Annali dell'Università di Ferrara is a general mathematical journal publishing high quality papers in all aspects of pure and applied mathematics. After a quick preliminary examination, potentially acceptable contributions will be judged by appropriate international referees. Original research papers are preferred, but well-written surveys on important subjects are also welcome.

The Arnold Mathematical Journal publishes interesting and understandable results in all areas of mathematics. The name of the journal is not only a dedication to the memory of Vladimir Arnold (1937 – 2010), one of the most influential mathematicians of the 20th century, but also a declaration that the journal should serve to maintain and promote the scientific style characteristic for Arnold's best mathematical works. Features of AMJ publications include: Popularity. The journal articles should be accessible to a very wide community of mathematicians. Not only formal definitions necessary for the understanding must be provided but also informal motivations even if the latter are well-known to the experts in the field. Interdisciplinary and multidisciplinary mathematics. AMJ publishes research expositions that connect different mathematical subjects. Connections that are useful in both ways are of particular importance. Multidisciplinary research (even if the disciplines all belong to pure mathematics) is generally hard to evaluate, for this reason, this kind of research is often under-represented in specialized mathematical journals. AMJ will try to compensate for this.Problems, objectives, work in progress. Most scholarly publications present results of a research project in their “final' form, in which all posed questions are answered. Some open questions and conjectures may be even mentioned, but the very process of mathematical discovery remains hidden. Following Arnold, publications in AMJ will try to unhide this process and made it public by encouraging the authors to include informal discussion of their motivation, possibly unsuccessful lines of attack, experimental data and close by research directions. AMJ publishes well-motivated research problems on a regular basis. Problems do not need to be original; an old problem with a new and exciting motivation is worth re-stating. Following Arnold's principle, a general formulation is less desirable than the simplest partial case that is still unknown.Being interesting. The most important requirement is that the article be interesting. It does not have to be limited by original research contributions of the author; however, the author's responsibility is to carefully acknowledge the authorship of all results. Neither does the article need to consist entirely of formal and rigorous arguments. It can contain parts, in which an informal author's understanding of the overall picture is presented; however, these parts must be clearly indicated.
Journal of Mathematical Sciences
Journal of Mathematical Sciences is now open for direct submissions which will complement English language translations from 11 Russian- and Ukrainian-language source journals. The content of the Journal of Mathematical Sciences is divided into Series A and Series B. Series A includes direct submissions. The submitted articles must be written in English and should be in the broad focus of the journal as described below. All direct submissions will be reviewed by an international Editorial Board headed by Prof. Alexey Karapetyants and accepted papers will receive professional copyediting. The regular review policy will be applied to each paper: at least two positive independent anonymous reports will be required for the acceptance of the manuscript. Direct submissions must meet high scientific publication standards with clear evidence of the novelty and scientific importance of the results. The broad scope of the direct submission can be expressed in the sentence “Mathematical analysis in a broad sense”. This means that primarily the Editorial Board are interested in manuscripts in the following fields of study: Mathematical analysis: real and complex variable methods; Ordinary and Partial differential equations; Fractional integrodifferentiation and applications; Mathematical physics; Function theory; Functional analysis; Applied analysis; Dynamical systems; Approximations; Optimization and Optimal Control; Harmonic analysis: real and complex variable methods; Operator theory; Applied harmonic analysis; Analytical methods in probability theory and Mathematical statistics; Mathematical biology; and applications of fields close or related to harmonic analysis, PDE's, Machine learning. neural networks and other fields mentioned above. Please consult the list above if you decide to submit in the JMS Series A (direct submission) so that your contribution fits into the thematic spectrum of the series. Series B includes only English language translations from 11 Russian- and Ukrainian-language source journals, and the broad scope of articles that are originating from the above-mentioned source journals covers a wide range of topics, including mathematical analysis, probability, statistics, algebra, geometry, mathematical physics, wave propagation, stochastic processes, boundary value problems, linear operators, and number and function theory. To submit your manuscript to one of the source journals please contact the respective EiC directly (see the Editorial Board information).
______ The "Mathematische Semesterberichte" were founded in 1932 by Heinrich Behnke and Otto Toeplitz. On the one hand, they contain reports from research about interesting new developments in mathematics and its applications; on the other hand, they deal with fundamental questions of teaching and learning mathematics at school and at institutions of higher education. These two goals are combined in the examination of problems and cross-connections in mathematics as well as in contributions on the historical development and foundations of mathematics. Special emphasis is placed on a clear, motivating style of the contributions. The journal includes the sections "Mathematical Imagery," "Mathematical Research and Applications," "Teaching Mathematics," "Documents", and "Philosophical and Historical Perspectives." The additional section "Book Review" presents and critiques recently published books of general interest.
