Africa Journal of Management

Taylor & Francis•ISSN: 2332-2373•United Kingdom
1.9
Clarivate IF

The beginning of the Twenty First Century has witnessed Africa’s rise and progress as one of the fastest growing and most promising regions of the world. At the same time, serious challenges remain. To sustain and speed up momentum, avoid reversal, and deal effectively with emerging challenges and opportunities, Africa needs better management scholarship, education and practice. The purpose of the Africa Journal of Management (AJOM) is to advance management theory, research, education, practice and service in Africa by promoting the production and dissemination of high quality and relevant manuscripts. AJOM is committed to publishing original, rigorous, scholarly empirical and theoretical research papers, which demonstrate clear understanding of the management literature and draw on Africa’s local indigenous knowledge, wisdom and current realities. As the first scholarly journal of the Africa Academy of Management (AFAM), AJOM gives voice to all those who are committed to advancing management scholarship, education and practice in or about Africa, for the benefit of all of Africa. AJOM welcomes manuscripts that develop, test, replicate or validate management theories, tools and methods with Africa as the starting point. The journal is open to a wide range of quality, evidence-based methodological approaches and methods that “link” “Western” management theories with Africa’s indigenous knowledge systems, methods and practice. We are particularly interested in manuscripts which address Africa’s most important development needs, challenges and opportunities as well as the big management questions of the day. We are interested in research papers which address issues of ethical conduct in different African settings.

Journal of Sport and Tourism

Taylor & Francis•ISSN: 1477-5085 / 1029-5399•United Kingdom
N/A
Clarivate IF

The Journal of Sport & Tourism (JS&T) aims to publish research that makes a clear contribution, substantively, theoretically or methodologically, to the body of knowledge relating to all aspects of the relationship between sport and tourism. Seeking to be the first port of call for research into the relationship between sport and tourism, JS&T welcomes submissions from all relevant subject areas, such as sport, leisure, physical education and tourism, and from a wide range of disciplines including, but not confined to: sociology, psychology, geography, policy studies, management studies, economics and marketing. Submissions may be empirical or conceptual, but should have a clearly articulated theoretical basis. JS&T takes an inclusive and wide-ranging view of the definitions of both sport and tourism, and therefore considers professional and amateur, competitive and non-competitive, social, recreational, and informal activities, as well as leisure, business, and day-trip tourism, to fall within its scope. The journal is interested in tourism incorporating any form of sporting interest, not just tourism to actively participate in sport. Consequently, manuscripts relating to tourism where sport is a subsidiary interest or activity are as appropriate for submission to JS&T as manuscripts relating to tourism where sport is the prime purpose. JS&T also covers wider aspects of the relationship between sport and tourism, such as policy partnerships between sport and tourism agencies or the role of tourism in sports development, and is interested in manuscripts that bring perspectives traditionally associated with the tourism area to the study of sport, and vice-versa.
