The Lancet Psychiatry launched in print and online in June 2014, following in the footsteps of other Lancet specialty journals such as The Lancet Oncology and The Lancet Neurology. The journal offers the same fast track experience offered by its sister journals for all authors of research papers that are selected for peer review, where articles can be published online within 8 weeks of submission. The journal publishes a range of article types in psychiatry, including Original Research, Reviews, Personal Views, Comments, and News articles. Topics include psychopharmacology, psychotherapy and psychosocial approaches to all psychiatric disorders, across the life course. The journal covers innovative treatments and the biological research underpinning such developments, novel methods of service delivery, and new ways of thinking about mental illness promoted by social psychiatry. The journal will also advocate strongly for the rights of people with mental health disorders, and welcome the voices of service users.

Clarivate IF

As the volume of literature in the fields of psychotherapy and psychosomatics continues to grow, it becomes increasingly difficult to keep abreast of new and important developments, and to have independent, critical views on key clinical issues concerned with assessment and treatment of mental disorders. ‘Psychotherapy and Psychosomatics’ has progressively increased its reputation for independence, originality and methodological rigor. It has anticipated and developed new lines of research concerned with psychosomatic medicine, psychotherapy research and psychopharmacology. The journal features editorials and reviews on current and controversial issue; innovations in assessment and treatment; case management articles; original investigations; literature updates; and a lively correspondence section. It has become a unique and vital reference to current research and practice, the home of innovative thinking at the interface between medical and behavioral sciences.

8.1
Clarivate IF

European Neuropsychopharmacology is the official publication of the European College of Neuropsychopharmacology (ECNP). In accordance with the mission of the College, the journal focuses on clinical and basic science contributions that advance our understanding of brain function and human behaviour and enable translation into improved treatments and enhanced public health impact in psychiatry. Recent years have been characterized by exciting advances in basic knowledge and available experimental techniques in neuroscience and genomics. However, clinical translation of these findings has not been as rapid. The journal aims to narrow this gap by promoting findings that are expected to have a major impact on both our understanding of the biological bases of mental disorders and the development and improvement of treatments, ideally paving the way for prevention and recovery.

JNNP's ambition is to publish the most ground-breaking and cutting-edge research from around the world. Encompassing the entire genre of neurological sciences, our focus is on the common disorders (stroke, multiple sclerosis, Parkinson's disease, epilepsy, peripheral neuropathy, subarachnoid haemorrhage and neuropsychiatry), but with a keen interest in the Gordian knots that present themselves in the field, such as ALS. With early online publication, regular podcasts and an immense archive collection (with the longest half-life of any journal in clinical neuroscience), JNNP is a trail-blazer and not a follower.

This journal aims to review the most important, recently published research in psychiatry. By providing clear, insightful, balanced contributions by international experts, the journal intends to serve all those involved in the care of those affected by psychiatric disorders. We accomplish this aim by appointing international authorities to serve as Section Editors in key subject areas, such as anxiety, medicopsychiatric disorders, and schizophrenia and other related psychotic disorders. Section Editors, in turn, select topics for which leading experts contribute comprehensive review articles that emphasize new developments and recently published papers of major importance, highlighted by annotated reference lists. An international Editorial Board reviews the annual table of contents, suggests articles of special interest to their country/region, and ensures that topics are current and include emerging research. Commentaries from well-known figures in the field are also provided.

Translational Psychiatry

Springer Nature•ISSN: 2158-3188•United States
7.5
Clarivate IF

Psychiatry has suffered tremendously by the limited translational pipeline. Nobel laureate Julius Axelrod's discovery in 1961 of monoamine reuptake by pre-synaptic neurons still forms the basis of contemporary antidepressant treatment. There is a grievous gap between the explosion of knowledge in neuroscience and conceptually novel treatments for our patients. Translational Psychiatry bridges this gap by fostering and highlighting the pathway from discovery to clinical applications, healthcare and global health. We view translation broadly as the full spectrum of work that marks the pathway from discovery to global health, inclusive. The steps of translation that are within the scope of Translational Psychiatry include (i) fundamental discovery, (ii) bench to bedside, (iii) bedside to clinical applications (clinical trials), (iv) translation to policy and health care guidelines, (v) assessment of health policy and usage, and (vi) global health. All areas of medical research, including — but not restricted to — molecular biology, genetics, pharmacology, imaging and epidemiology are welcome as they contribute to enhance the field of translational psychiatry.

The Journal includes: - Overviews of contentious or emerging issues. - Comprehensive narrative reviews that provide an authoritative source of information on pharmacological approaches to managing neurological and psychiatric illnesses. - Systematic reviews that collate empirical evidence to answer a specific research question, using explicit, systematic methods as outlined by the PRISMA statement. - Adis Drug Reviews of the properties and place in therapy of both newer and established drugs in neurology and psychiatry. - Original research articles reporting the results of well-designed studies with a strong link to clinical practice, such as clinical pharmacodynamic and pharmacokinetic studies, clinical trials, meta-analyses, outcomes research, and pharmacoeconomic and pharmacoepidemiological studies. Additional digital features (including animated abstracts, video abstracts, slide decks, audio slides, instructional videos, infographics, podcasts and animations) can be published with articles; these are designed to increase the visibility, readership and educational value of the journal’s content. In addition, articles published in CNS Drugs may be accompanied by plain language summaries to assist readers who have some knowledge of, but not in-depth expertise in, the area to understand important medical advances.
