Language Policy is highly relevant to scholars, students, specialists and policy-makers working in the fields of applied linguistics, language policy, sociolinguistics, and language teaching and learning. The journal aims to contribute to the field by publishing high-quality studies that build a sound theoretical understanding of the field of language policy and cover a range of cases, situations and regions worldwide.
A distinguishing feature of this journal is its focus on various dimensions of language educational policy. Language education policy includes decisions about which languages are to be used as a medium of instruction and/or taught in schools, as well as analysis of these policies within their social, ethnic, religious, political, cultural and economic contexts.
The journal aims to continue its tradition of bringing together solid scholarship on language policy and language education policy from around the world but also to expand its direction into new areas. The editors are very interested in papers that explore language policy not only at national levels but also at the institutional levels of schools, workplaces, families, health services, media and other entities. In particular, we welcome theoretical and empirical papers with sound qualitative or quantitative bases that critically explore how language policies are developed at local and regional levels, as well as on how they are enacted, contested and negotiated by the targets of that policy themselves. We seek papers on the above topics as they are researched and informed through interdisciplinary work within related fields such as education, anthropology, politics, linguistics, economics, law, history, ecology, and geography. We particularly are interested in papers from lesser-covered parts of the world of Africa and Asia.
Specifically we encourage papers in the following areas:
Detailed accounts of promoting and managing language (education) policy (who, what, why, and how) in local, institutional, national and global contexts.
Research papers on the development, implementation and effects of language policies, including implications for minority and majority languages, endangered languages, lingua francas and linguistic human rights;
Accounts of language policy development and implementation by governments and governmental agencies, non-governmental organizations and business enterprises, with a critical perspective (not only descriptive).
Accounts of attempts made by ethnic, religious and minority groups to establish, resist, or modify language policies (language policies 'from below');
Theoretically and empirically informed papers addressing the enactment of language policy in public spaces, cyberspace and the broader language ecology (e.g., linguistic landscapes, sociocultural and ethnographic perspectives on language policy);
Review pieces of theory or research that contribute broadly to our understanding of language policy, including of how individual interests and practices interact with policy.
We also welcome proposals for special guest-edited thematic issues on any of the topics above, and short commentaries on topical issues in language policy or reactions to papers published in the journal.
The Review of International Organizations publishes original scientific contributions in the entire field of political economy, with a focus on the policies and structure of international organizations, such as the WTO, World Bank, NATO, WHO, the European Court of Human Rights, and the UN. The journal includes studies based on modern economic, political economic, and international relations theories, using quantitative or qualitative methods. Papers should ideally put forward a new theory and provide a rigorous empirical test of this theory, but the RIO allows for a trade-off between the two.
The RIO features a comment section where it invites comments to articles published in the Review of International Organizations and elsewhere. Replication is particularly encouraged.
The RIO invites submission of data articles. Compared to regular articles, data articles focus less on theory and should present high-quality, important and relevant data that can be expected to be widely used by the research community.
The RIO aims for a quick turnaround. In 2020, the average number of days between the date the manuscript was received and the first decision was 36 days. The RIO checks data and program files of empirical papers prior to publication.

The main purpose of the journal is twofold: to encourage (1) integration of theoretical studies and policy studies on environmental issues and (2) interdisciplinary works of environmental economics, environmental policy studies, and related fields on environmental issues. The journal also welcomes contributions from any discipline as long as they are consistent with the above stated aims and purposes, and encourages interaction beyond the traditional schools of thought.
The mission of Eurasian Economic Review is to publish peer-reviewed empirical research papers that test, extend, or build theory and contribute to practice. All empirical methods - including, but not limited to, qualitative, quantitative, field, laboratory, and any combination of methods - are welcome. Empirical, theoretical and methodological articles from all fields of finance and applied macroeconomics are featured in the journal. Theoretical and/or review articles that integrate existing bodies of research and that provide new insights into the field are highly encouraged. The journal has a broad scope, addressing such issues as: financial systems and regulation, corporate and start-up finance, macro and sustainable finance, finance and innovation, consumer finance, public policies on financial markets within local, regional, national and international contexts, money and banking, and the interface of labor and financial economics. The macroeconomics coverage includes topics from monetary economics, labor economics, international economics and development economics.
Eurasian Economic Review is published quarterly. To be published in Eurasian Economic Review, a manuscript must make strong empirical and/or theoretical contributions and highlight the significance of those contributions to our field. Consequently, preference is given to submissions that test, extend, or build strong theoretical frameworks while empirically examining issues with high importance for theory and practice. Eurasian Economic Review is not tied to any national context. Although it focuses on Europe and Asia, all papers from related fields on any region or country are highly encouraged. Single country studies, cross-country or regional studies can be submitted.
European Political Science (EPS) is an international journal devoted to publishing contributions by and for the political science community. Its interpretation of 'political science' is wide and encompasses comparative politics, political economy, international relations, public administration, political theory, European studies and related disciplines. Although our traditional focus has been on European affairs and the development of the discipline, we are always on the lookout for work that compares politics in Europe with other continents and countries, and more general work (on other regions) that would be of interest to European political scientists (our main readership). As the professional journal of the European Consortium for Political Research, EPS is also a prime outlet for research notes and opinion pieces about the political science profession, including teaching and learning contributions, as well as symposia and academic debates. As a new initiative, we also publish original datasets.
The editors of European Political Science (EPS), invite you to submit the following types of articles.
Research - articles on conceptual, methodological, and theoretical developments and trends in political science. Articles aimed at this section should be intellectually stimulating, conceptually rigorous, critical and above all agenda-setting.
Profession - articles about the state of the discipline, and where it is heading, relations between academia and politicians, policy-makers, journalists and ordinary citizens.
Teaching - articles, debates and symposia on new approaches to teaching and learning political science.
Debate - a collection of 3 to 4 articles (maximum 20,000 words) that exposes two countervailing perspectives on important current affairs or professional matters in order to generate awareness and reactions from the political science community.
Symposium - a collection of 4 to 5 articles (maximum length 25,000 words) on a specific topic and under the coordination of one or two guest editors. The articles must cover either research matters (including the discipline, methodological and conceptual developments, as well as research findings in the classical sense that may contribute to an advancement of the discipline). Symposia can also tackle professional matters (such as career structures and prospects, external evaluation, higher education reforms, accreditation issues, funding trends).
Datasets - original dataset accompanied by a short explanatory note explaining the dataset, its novelty, the variables included and the data sources. The descriptive piece will be under copyright, but not the dataset. This format allows authors to get their dataset published and cited, but also allows them and others them and others to use the data for research articles.
Changes in the hardware, software and telecommunication technologies play a major role in the way our society is evolving. During the last decade, the rate of change in information technology has increased. Indeed it is clear that we are now entering an era where explosive change in telecommunication technology combined with ever increasing computing power will lead to profound changes in information systems that support our organizations. These changes will affect the way our organizations function, will lead to new business opportunities and will create a need for new non-profit organizations. Governments and international organizations do and will have to scramble to create policies and laws for control of public goods and services such as airwaves and public networks. Educational institutions will continue to change the content of educational materials they deliver to include new knowledge and skills. In addition these institutions will change the delivery mechanisms for disseminating these materials. By definition, information technology is very wide. There are a number of journals that address different technologies such as databases, knowledge bases, multimedia, group-ware, telecommunications, etc. This current trend is understandable because these technologies are indeed complex and often have a multitude of technical issues requiring in-depth study. On the other hand, business solutions almost always require integration of a number of these technologies. Therefore it is important to have a journal where the readers will be exposed not only to different technologies but also to their impact on information system design, functionality, operations and management. It should be emphasized that information systems include not only machines but also humans; therefore, the journal will be an outlet for studies dealing with man/machine interface, human factors and organizational issues. Furthermore, managerial issues arising from and dealing with managem ent of information technology and systems including strategic issues are included in the domain of coverage. The topics of coverage will include but will not be limited to the following list: Managing with Information Technology;Management of Information Technology and Systems;Introduction and Diffusion of IT;Strategic Impact of IT;Economics of IS and IT;New Information Technologies and Their Impact on Organizations;Human Factors in Information Systems;Man/Machine Interface, GUI;IS and Organizational Research Issues;Graphical Problem Solving;Multimedia Applications;Knowledge Acquisition and Representation;Knowledge Bases;Data Modeling;Database Management Systems;Data Mining;Model Management Systems;Systems Analysis, Design and Development; Case Technologies;Object Oriented Design Methodologies;System Design Methodologies;System Development Environments;Performance Modeling and Analysis; Software Engineering;Artificial Intelligence Applications to Organizational/Business Problems;Expert Systems;Decision Support Systems;Machine Learning;Neural Network Applications;Meta-Heuristics and Business Problem Solving;Distributed Computer Systems, Legacy Systems, Client - Server Computing;End User Computing;Information Systems for Virtual Organizations;IS and IT for Business Process Re-engineering;IS for Total Quality Control;IS for Supporting Team Work;Negotiation Support Systems;Group Decision Support Systems;EDI;Internet/WWW Applications;Telecommunication Networks;IT and International Information Systems;Security in Networks and Systems;Public Policy Issues dealing with Telecommunica tion;Networks and Airways;IS and IT Training;GIS;IS and IT Applications, e.g., in logistics, marketing, accounting, finance and operations.

The peer-reviewed journal Modeling Earth Systems and Environment (MESE) provides a unique publication platform by discussing interdisciplinary problems and approaches through modeling. The focus of MESE is on modeling in earth and environment related fields, such as: earth and environmental engineering; climate change; hydrogeology; aquatic systems and functions; atmospheric research and water; land use and vegetation change; modeling of forest and agricultural dynamics; and economic and energy systems. Furthermore, the journal combines these topics with modeling of anthropogenic or social phenomena and projections to be used by decision makers.In addition to Research Articles, Modeling Earth Systems and Environment publishes Review Articles, Letters, and Data Articles:Research Articles have a recommended length of 10-12 published pages, referees will be asked to comment specifically on the manuscript length for manuscripts exceeding this limit.Review articles provide readers with assessments of advances, as well as projected developments in key areas of modeling earth systems and the environment. We expect that a typical review article will occupy twelve to fifteen pages in journal format, and have a substantial number of citations, which justify the comprehensive nature of the review.Letters have a shorter publication time and provide an opportunity to rapidly disseminate novel results expected to have an immediate impact in the earth system and environmental modeling community. Letters should include a short abstract, should not exceed four journal pages and about 10 citations.Data Articles give you the opportunity to share and reuse each other's datasets as electronic supplementary material. To facilitate reproducibility, you need to thoroughly describe your data, the methods of collection, and the already proceeded assimilation. Data Articles have a recommended length of 4-6 pages.Information on Open Research Funding and Support may be found here: https://www.springernature.com/gp/open-research/institutional-agreements

The primary concern of Environmental & Resource Economics (ERE) is the application of economic theory and methods to environmental issues and problems that require detailed analysis in order to improve management strategies. The contemporary environmental debate is in a constant state of flux and new or relatively unexplored topics are continually emerging. The Journal provides a forum for the further exploration of the causes, consequences and policy responses linked to these topics, across a range of spatial and temporal scales up to the global dimension. Contributions to the Journal should directly or indirectly be relevant to the policy formulation and application process. Areas of particular interest include: evaluation and development of instruments of environmental policy; cost-benefit and cost effectiveness analysis; sectoral environmental policy impact analysis; modelling and simulation; institutional arrangements; resource pricing and the valuation of environmental goods; environmental quality indicators. The editors wish to encourage a pluralistic approach to both theoretical and applied contributions. The publication of empirically based, policy-oriented research is given a high priority in the Journal in order to further critical discussion. Environmental & Resource Economics will also accept papers with an interdisciplinary approach, where this helps to improve knowledge of the real world complexities present, provided that the analysis retains links to or components of economic thinking. The Journal is required reading for economists, economic geographers and other academics, professionals and officials with a working interest in environmental matters.

The journal "Metacognition and Learning" addresses various components of metacognition, such as metacognitive awareness, experiences, knowledge, and executive skills.
Both general metacognition as well as domain-specific metacognitions in various task domains (mathematics, physics, reading, writing etc.) are considered. Papers may address fundamental theoretical issues, measurement issues regarding both quantitative and qualitative methods, as well as empirical studies about individual differences in metacognition, relations with other learner characteristics and learning strategies, developmental issues, the training of metacognition components in learning, and the teacher’s role in metacognition training. Studies highlighting the role of metacognition in self- or co-regulated learning as well as its relations with motivation and affect are also welcomed.
Submitted papers are judged on theoretical relevance, methodological thoroughness, and appeal to an international audience. The journal aims for a high academic standard with relevance to the field of educational practices.
One restriction is that papers should pertain to the role of metacognition in learning situations. Self-regulation in clinical settings, such as coping with phobia or anxiety outside learning situations, is beyond the scope of the journal.
