Journal of World Prehistory

Clarivate IF

Aims and scopeJournal of World Prehistory is an international forum for the publication of peer-reviewed, original treatments of the prehistory of an area or larger region. It was founded nearly thirty years ago with the remit of providing researchers, instructors and students with timely and authoritative research syntheses from all fields of archaeology. Journal of World Prehistory continues to lead in this field. Our classic articles may be 20,000 or 25,000 words long, as appropriate (excluding their extensive bibliographies). Since 2008 they have been joined by shorter (around 10,000 words), position pieces, which provide in-depth, thoughtful development of data and concepts, including interventions in controversies that unfold in our pages. These, written in a fashion interesting and accessible to all archaeologists, are often paired with a longer treatment in a single volume. In addition, readers now benefit from thematic special issues and double issues, in which a number of leading authors deal with a key theme in world prehistory, such as the origins of metallurgy (2009, volumes 22: 3 and 4), or the East Asian Neolithic (2013, in preparation). All papers are available first online, followed by the print edition. We aim to be truly global in coverage, with recent articles dealing, inter alia, with Amazonian lithics, the late Jomon of Hokkaido, the Bronze Age in Southeast Asia, the Neanderthal settlement of Doggerland, Neolithic networks in Western Asia, younger Dryas Paleo-Indian adaptations, and state formation in the Horn of Africa. Articles benefit from multi-language abstracts where appropriate, and we work closely with authors who do not have English as a first language to present major syntheses in a clear and concise way to an international audience. Traditionally, JWP focuses on earlier periods, but it includes the beginnings and early development of complex societies, and our understanding of ‘prehistory’ is broad and inclusive: for guidance on chronological scope, as well as our calendrical conventions, see the editorial article ‘Prehistory vs. Archaeology: terms of Engagement’ http://www.springerlink.com/content/346142p032604447/ Our unique remit means that we do not encourage the submission of unsolicited papers; rather, specific proposals are encouraged and then guided prior to independent peer review. Our aims and the way we fulfil them, with close contact with authors throughout the publication process, mean that JWP is not a venue for the simple and rapid dissemination of new results. Whilst we expect scholarship to be current, with syntheses including much new data, our readers look to us for definitive area/period coverage that will have continuing value. If you are proposing an article or special theme for Journal of World Prehistory, please read the Instructions for authors.Rated 'A' in the European Reference Index for the Humanities (ERIH)'Journal of World Prehistory is rated 'A' in the ERIH, a new reference index that aims to help evenly access the scientific quality of Humanities research output. Motivation and Emotion

Springer Nature•ISSN: 0146-7239 / 1573-6644•United States
2.5
Clarivate IF

Motivation and Emotion publishes articles on human motivational and emotional phenomena that make theoretical advances by linking empirical findings to underlying processes. Submissions should focus on key problems in motivation and emotion, and, if using non-human participants, should contribute to theories concerning human behavior.  Articles should be explanatory rather than merely descriptive, providing the data necessary to understand the origins of motivation and emotion, to explicate why, how, and under what conditions motivational and emotional states change, and to document that these processes are important to human functioning.A range of methodological approaches are welcome, with methodological rigor as the key criterion.  Manuscripts that rely exclusively on self-report data are appropriate, but published articles tend to be those that rely on objective measures (e.g., behavioral observations, psychophysiological responses, reaction times, brain activity, and performance or achievement indicators) either singly or combination with self-report data. The journal generally does not publish scale development and validation articles.  However, it is open to articles that focus on the post-validation contribution that a new measure can make.  Scale development and validation work therefore may be submitted if it is used as a necessary prerequisite to follow-up studies that demonstrate the importance of the new scale in making a theoretical advance.

Spatial Information Research

Springer Nature•ISSN: 2366-3286 / 2366-3294•Updating
2.5
Clarivate IF

The Spatial Information Research (SIR) mixes academia and industry for Spatial Information Science in a way that no other international journal in this field does. The journal brings science and practice together. This is reflected in a SIR article type, which contains a classical scientific part as well as a chapter with easily understandable practical implications for policy makers and practitioners. It publishes best practice examples (case reports), review as well as theories, methods and data analysis with a link (or a potential link) to spatial information. The boundary of acceptable subject matter has been intentionally left flexible so that the SIR can follow the research activities, technology applications and future trends to build a bridge between science and practice. In this regard, the journal is interested in articles having significant social science component (e.g. spatial information law, cadaster, real property, market survey, marketing strategy, urban planning, regional development, public administration, business administration) that address the social drivers or policy processes of spatial information. The focus of the journal is on all aspects of the application of spatial information science exploring cross-disciplinary exchange of knowledge within and across sectors and disciplines including but not limited to; Geographic Information Systems (GIS), Remote Sensing, Unmanned Aerial Vehicle (UAV), open source geospatial software, cadaster, smart city, Global Positioning Systems (GPS), Internet of Things (IOT), 3D visualization, spatial statistics, cartography, Computer-aided design (CAD), photogrammetry, image processing, Topographic surveys, mobile mapping, Ubiquitous Sensor Network (USN), programming languages, computer graphics. The different types of articles published in Spatial Information Research are indicated as below;• Original research article (5,000 words): Providing a novel and original contribution to the scientific fields of study outlined above. • Review papers (extensive state-of-the-art surveys of established or emerging topics or application areas); • Special case reports (new useful ideas and brief pertinent comments of a technical nature). • Others that editorial board agrees; rapid communications and discussions, financial funding proposal, opinions, comments and proposals, tutorial.

Journal of International Entrepreneurship

Springer Nature•ISSN: 1570-7385 / 1573-7349•Netherlands

Clarivate IF

Competition in international markets was traditionally the realm of large companies, with smaller firms tending to remain local or regional. Internationalisation was an expansion option of interest to some enterprises, but seldom was it a competitive necessity. Many opted to avoid the uncertainties of competing in foreign markets, and simply kept their firms small and local. Traditional internationalisation theories, therefore, focused mainly on large multinational corporations, and were less pertinent to smaller firms. With the liberalisation of trade, however, domestic firms are threatened by international competitors that are penetrating formerly protected markets. Nowadays, internationalisation affects everyone, whether or not they wish to internationalise themselves. The threats and opportunities of internationalisation must be addressed. Globalisation is transforming the competitive environment of small and large players alike. As a result, internationalisation issues will continue to be increasingly important to business. Public policy agendas already include programmes to help entrepreneurs become successful at internationalisation. There is a growing need to understand internationalisation in the context of entrepreneurship, as well as large multinationals. Knowledge of how, when and why firms internationalise - either incrementally or not - will surely be the focus of energetic researchers. Yet, up to now, academia has been lacking a journal dedicated to internationalisation issues. To fill this niche, the aforementioned editorial team wishes to offer an outlet for high-quality research addressing the opportunities and challenges intrinsic to internationalisation. The primary audience for this journal will be researchers of entrepreneurship and international business. In addition, readership is certain to include business-people and policy-makers. The editors invite submissions that analyse internationalisation, combining theore tical and empirical work. Researchers will be encouraged to conduct comparative studies, and to evaluate competing theories. The composition of the editorial team - including experts in international business and experts in entrepreneurship - is designed to avoid editorial bias. Every effort will be made to reach a first decision about a submission, within sixty days. Officially cited as: J Int Entrep

Public Choice

Public Choice deals with the intersection between economics and political science. The journal was founded at a time when economists and political scientists became interested in the application of essentially economic methods to problems normally dealt with by political scientists. It has always retained strong traces of economic methodology, but new and fruitful techniques have been developed which are not recognizable by economists. Public Choice therefore remains central in its chosen role of introducing the two groups to each other, and allowing them to explain themselves through the medium of its pages.
