Acta Physico-Chimica Sinica, founded in 1985, is sponsored by the Chinese Chemical Society and organized by the College of Chemistry and Molecular Engineering, Peking University. Acta Physico-Chimica Sinica is devoted to reporting new and original experimental and theoretical basic research of interest to physical chemists, biophysical chemists, and material physical chemists.
The articles in TrAC are concise, critical overviews of new developments in analytical chemistry, which are aimed at helping analytical chemists and other users of analytical techniques. These critical reviews comprise excellent, up-to-date, timely coverage of topics of interest in analytical chemistry, such as: analytical instrumentation, biomedical analysis, biomolecular analysis, biosensors, chemical analysis, chemometrics, clinical chemistry, drug discovery, environmental analysis and monitoring, food analysis, forensic science, laboratory automation, materials science, metabolomics, pesticide-residue analysis, pharmaceutical analysis, proteomics, surface science, and water analysis and monitoring.
General issues contain critical review articles. Special Issues provide comprehensive updates with critical review articles on particularly topical fields of interest in analytical chemistry.
Carbohydrate Polymers covers the study and exploitation of polymers of monosaccharides which have current or potential application in areas such as bioenergy, bioplastics, biomaterials, nanotechnology, biorefining, drug delivery, food, chemistry, packaging , paper, pharmaceuticals, medicine, oil recovery, textiles and wood.
The role of the well-characterized carbohydrate polymer must be the major proportion of the work reported, not peripheral. At least one named carbohydrate polymer must be cited and be the main focus of the title of the paper, and of the paper itself. Research must be innovative and advance scientific knowledge.
Where a polysaccharide is obtained from a supplier, essential structural information which will affect its behavior in the subsequent work should be given. For example, molecular size/viscosity information, mannuronate/glucoronate ration for alginates, degree of esterification for pectin, degree of deacetylation for chitosan. Editors are unlikely to send papers for formal review with a statement such as "sodium alginate was purchased from XXX Inc." unless additional information is supplied. To be acceptable, the paper must include some characterization of the polysaccharide (if not already known) in addition to the application studied. Purity and monosaccharide composition are essential; some molecular size and linkage information is highly desirable.

The Annual Review of Chemical and Biomolecular Engineering aims to provide a perspective on the broad field of chemical (and related) engineering. It addresses advances in applied chemistry and biology, with a focus on concepts, old and new materials, and/or processes. The journal draws from disciplines as diverse as biology, physics, and engineering, with development of chemical products and processes as the unifying theme.
The Journal of Controlled Release (JCR) publishes high-quality research articles in the broad field of delivery science and technology. This includes drug delivery systems and all aspects of formulations, such as physicochemical and biological properties of drugs, design and characterization of dosage forms, release mechanisms, in vivo testing, and formulation research and development in the disciplines of pharmaceutical, diagnostic, agricultural, environmental, cosmetic, and food industries. Manuscripts that advance fundamental understanding of principles and/or demonstrate advantages of novel technologies in safety and efficacy over current clinical standards will be given priority. Each issue has the cover story highlighting the significance of a selected article published in the issue. At the end of each quarter, the JCR editors select "The Editors' Choice" from the published research articles.
Trends in Environmental Analytical Chemistry is devoted to publishing concise and critical overviews of the rapid changes and development in the field of environmental analytical chemistry.
The international journal, Photochemistry Reviews, as the official journal of the Japanese Photochemistry Association, provides a forum for mutual communication among scientists in various fields of photochemistry and aims to promote new interdisciplinary fields.
The scope includes fundamental molecular photochemistry in gas, liquid, and solid phases, organic photochemistry, inorganic photochemistry, supramolecular photochemistry, photochemical aspects of photosynthesis and photobiology, photoelectrochemistry, photocatalysis, solar energy conversion, photochemical devices, photofabrication, photofunctionalization, new chemistry for photonics, and other related areas.
Surface Science Reports contains invited review papers on experimental and theoretical studies in the physics, chemistry and pioneering applications of surfaces, interfaces and nanostructures. It covers topics which contribute to a better understanding of basic phenomena occurring on surfaces and interfaces, but also the application of this knowledge to the development of materials, processes and devices. "Surfaces" is defined in this journal to include all interfaces between solids, liquids, polymers, biomaterials, nanostructures, soft matter, gases and/or vacuum. The journal also contains reviews of experimental techniques and methods used to characterize surfaces and surface processes, e.g. those based upon the interactions of photons, electrons and ions with surfaces.
