African Journal of Range & Forage Science

Taylor and Francis Ltd.•ISSN: 1022-0119 / 1727-9380•South Africa
1.6
Clarivate IF

The African Journal of Range & Forage Science is the leading rangeland and pastoral journal in Africa. The Journal is dedicated to publishing quality original material that advances rangeland ecology and pasture management. The journal aims to publish research of international importance from any region, but as an African journal, we are particularly interested in research from Africa and relevant to the continent. The Journal promotes both science and its application and authors are encouraged to explicitly identify the practical implications of their work. Peer-reviewed research papers and research notes deal primarily with all aspects of rangeland and pasture ecology and management, including the ecophysiology and biogeochemistry of rangelands and pastures, terrestrial plant–herbivore interactions (both domestic and wild), rangeland assessment and monitoring, effects of climate change on rangelands, rangeland and pasture management, rangeland rehabilitation, ecosystem services in support of production, conservation and biodiversity goals, and the identification and development of intensive and semi-intensive pasture and forage resources to meet livestock production needs. Articles highlighting transdisciplinary linkages among biophysical and social sciences that support management, policy and societal values are particularly encouraged. The Journal includes relevant book reviews and invited perspectives that contribute to the development of range and forage science. Letters to the editor that debate issues raised in the Journal are acceptable. The African Journal of Range & Forage Science is the official journal of the Grassland Society of Southern Africa.

Austral Ecology

Wiley-Blackwell Publishing Ltd•ISSN: 1442-9985•Australia
1.6
Clarivate IF

Austral Ecology is the premier journal for basic and applied ecology in the Southern Hemisphere. As the official Journal of The Ecological Society of Australia (ESA), Austral Ecology addresses the commonality between ecosystems in Australia and many parts of southern Africa, South America, New Zealand and Oceania. For example many species in the unique biotas of these regions share common Gondwana ancestors. ESA's aim is to publish innovative research to encourage the sharing of information and experiences that enrich the understanding of the ecology of the Southern Hemisphere. Austral Ecology involves an editorial board with representatives from Australia, South Africa, New Zealand, Brazil and Argentina. These representatives provide expert opinions, access to qualified reviewers and act as a focus for attracting a wide range of contributions from countries across the region. Austral Ecology publishes original papers describing experimental, observational or theoretical studies on terrestrial, marine or freshwater systems, which are considered without taxonomic bias. Special thematic issues are published regularly, including symposia on the ecology of estuaries and soft sediment habitats, freshwater systems and coral reef fish.

Population Ecology, formerly known as Researches on Population Ecology launched in Dec 1952, is the official journal of the Society of Population Ecology. Population Ecology publishes original research articles and reviews (including invited reviews) on various aspects of population ecology, from the individual to the community level. Among the specific fields included are population dynamics and distribution, evolutionary ecology, ecological genetics, theoretical models, conservation biology, agroecosystem studies, and bioresource management. Manuscripts should contain new results of empirical and/or theoretical investigations concerning facts, patterns, processes, mechanisms or concepts of population ecology; those purely descriptive in nature are not suitable for this journal. All manuscripts are reviewed anonymously by two or more referees, and the final editorial decision is made by the Chief Editor or an Associate Editor based on the referees' evaluations.

Clarivate IF

BioInvasions Records is an Open Access, peer-reviewed international journal focusing on field research of biological invasions in aquatic and terrestrial ecosystems from around the world. It was established in November 2011 as a continuation of the former Aquatic Invasions Records, an electronic supplement of the international journal Aquatic Invasions, with start-up funding from the European Commission Seventh Framework Programme for Research and Technological Development Collaborative Project enviroGRIDS. BioInvasions Records provides authors with their rights protection concerning primary geo-referenced records, biological monitoring and surveys as well as timely publication of reports concerning first alien species records. This contributes to rapid information dissemination, risk assessment procedures and early warning systems on invasive alien species (IAS). BioInvasions Records may also contribute to timely and coordinated eradication efforts of newly-found IAS. The fast and comprehensive peer review process of manuscripts serves as an effective quality control mechanism. The journal provides a forum for professionals involved in research and management of invasive alien species, with focus on new records of non-native species. BioInvasions Records is an official journal of International Association for Open Knowledge on Invasive Alien Species (INVASIVESNET).

Journal of Natural History is an international zoological journal publishing original research and reviews in evolutionary biology and ecology. It maintains its historical niche by publishing a broad range of systematics papers on all animal phyla from Porifera to Chordata, encompassing traditional taxonomic revisions and descriptions, cladistic analyses and molecular phylogenetics and phylogenomics. The journal has recognized strengths in entomology and marine invertebrates, but also welcomes papers on the natural history of all animal species and on the interactions of species with their environment. Preference is given to in-depth papers and extensive taxonomic reviews: single species descriptions and checklists are not normally considered. Authors wishing to suggest a review paper should contact the relevant editor.
