Check List is a peer-reviewed online journal, devoted to publishing biodiversity data related to species’ geographic distribution. Thus, our primary mission if to fill the so-called Wallacean shortfall (Lomolino 2004) and to improve our knowledge of how life is distributed on the planet in order to better preserve it. These data are essential for studies on biogeography and provide a baseline for the conservation of biodiversity. The first step to undertaking effective conservation action is to maintain records of the distribution of species. Therefore, the journal was created from the need publish basic data on species distribution of any taxon in a timely and open manner, which are often neglected by traditional journals. Check List is a bimonthly peer-reviewed online journal, and will consider for publication: -distribution summaries of a supraspecific taxon in a broad geographic area (e.g., hemisphere, country, biome), as a review of the distribution of a taxon in the given area. -annotated list of species, of a given taxon in a strict geographic area, with comments and illustrations on the identifications, based on original data. -notes on the geographic distribution, reporting new records of one or more species while providing a complete overview on the known distribution of the treated taxa. -book reviews on books related to biodiversity, biogeography, niche modeling, or any associated field that uses species distribution as its primary data source. -opinions on relevant subjects for the journal’s mission and scope
Interciencia is the monthly multidisciplinary publication of the INTERCIENCIA Association. It is dedicated to stimulate scientific research, its humanitarian use and the study of its social context, specially in Latin America and the Caribbean and to promote communication between the scientific and technological communities of the Americas. Interciencia has been published uninterruptedly since 1976. Its Founding Director, Marcel Roche (endocrinologist and sociologist of science) was editor until 2008, and thereafter Miguel Laufer (neurobiologist) has been in charge. It has been included since 1978 in the Science Citation Index and other international indexes, and since 2008 it maintains an open access electronic version with material from 2005 onwards. The priority areas of the journal, without exclusion of other areas, are Agronomy, Arid Lands, Food and Nutrition, Biotechnology, Ecology and Environment, Energy, Innovation and Technology Transfer, Marine Resources, Non-renewable Resources, Science Education, Science Policy, Study and Sociology of Science, and Tropical Forests. Interciencia publishes in Spanish, Portuguese and English research and review articles, communications and essays, all of which are subjected to peer review. Additionally, it includes non-refereed sections such as Editorial, Letters to the Editor, Open Town Hall, Book Reviews and Upcoming Events. All the material submitted to the journal for publication and accepted by the Editorial Committee in view of its quality and pertinence is subjected to review by peer specialists in the corresponding fields of knowledge. Neither the INTERCIENCIA Association, nor the journal or the institutions to which the authors belong carry responsibility for the contents. Signing authors are responsible for the material published under their names.

Contemporary Problems of Ecology is a multidisciplinary periodical that publishes original works on the following subjects: theoretical and methodical issues of ecology, regional aspects of ecology, regional ecological disasters, structure and functioning of ecosystems, anthropogenic transformation of ecosystems. All basic aspects of modern ecology, including the most complicated interactions between living organisms and their environment, are presented. Some of the journal issues are dedicated to global changes in biological diversity at various levels of organization (populations, species, ecosystems) principles and methods of nature conservation.
The Northeastern Naturalist covers all aspects of the natural history sciences of terrestrial, freshwater, and marine organisms and the environments of the northeastern portion of North America, roughly bounded from Virginia to Missouri, north to Minnesota and Nunavut, east to Newfoundland, and south back to Virginia. Manuscripts based on field studies outside of this region that provide information on species within this region may be considered at the Editor’s discretion. The journal welcomes manuscripts based on observations and research focused on the biology of terrestrial, freshwater, and marine organisms and communities as it relates to their life histories and their function within, use of, and adaptation to the environment and the habitats in which they are found, as well as on the ecology and conservation of species and habitats. Such studies may encompass measurements, surveys, and/or experiments in the field, under lab conditions, or utilizing museum and herbarium specimens. Subject areas include, but are not limited to, anatomy, behavior, biogeography, biology, conservation, evolution, ecology, genetics, parasitology, physiology, population biology, and taxonomy. Strict lab, modeling, and simulation studies on natural history aspects of the region, without any field component, will be considered for publication as long as the research has direct and clear significance to field naturalists and the manuscript discusses these implications.
Russian Journal of Biological Invasions publishes original scientific papers dealing with biological invasions of alien species in both terrestrial and aquatic ecosystems and covers the following subjects:description of invasion process (theory, modeling, results of observations and experiments): invasion corridors, invasion vectors, invader species adaptations, vulnerability of aboriginal ecosystems;monitoring of invasion process (reports about findings of organisms out of the limits of natural range, propagule pressure assessment, settling dynamics, rates of naturalization);invasion risk assessment; genetic, evolutional, and ecological consequences of biological invasions of alien species; methods, means of hoarding, processing and presentation of applied research data (new developments, modeling, research results, databases) with factual and geoinformation system applications;use of the results of biological invasion research (methods and new basic results) under the study of marine, fresh-water and terrestrial species, populations, communities and ecosystems; control, rational use and eradication of the harmful alien species..
The aim of issuing the journal “Theoretical and Applied Ecology” is informational support of fundamental and applied research conducted on regional, federal and international level in the sphere of ecologically safe development of industry, preserving the mineral resources and biosphere sustainability, as well as of a well-though way of consumption of natural resources. The journal sets a very important task – to put together theoretical and applied issues of Ecology and Nature Management, uniting the creative potential of those people and organizations which are interested in preserving the nature and providing ecological safety. The articles published in the journal generalize the most contemporary experience of certain organization and specialists in the sphere of nature management. The journal lets a wide range of readers, scientists, representatives of legislative and executive branches get to know the research results. One of the main tasks of the editorial board of the journal consists in increasing the quality of the journal and to inform people of the journal with the help of the Map of Science of Russia: through increasing the amount of scientific reviews dealing with the most topical spheres of Ecology, ecological safety, effective nature management, through publishing articles of the authors most ofter referred to, striving to being indexed in international databases in accordance with all the international standards and requirements of the citation indexes Scopus and/or Web of Science, inclusion of the journal in these informational databases and of the basis of agents of other electronic resources.
The Western North American Naturalist places neither restriction nor preference on manuscripts within the disciplines of the biological sciences. Each issue treats diverse taxa from the perspectives of various disciplines (e.g., ecology, population dynamics, behavior, systematics, anatomy, and physiology).
Acta Phytotaxonomica et Geobotanica (APG) is an international peer-reviewed journal published three times a year by the Japanese Society for Plant Systematics.
