The quarterly Ecological Chemistry and Engineering S is a multidisciplinary journal devoted to the publishing of original scientific papers, review articles, professional papers, case reports and varia (professional information, book reviews, etc.).
It is pertinent to describe methods determining quality of air, water, soils and food.
Many papers published are on monitoring and biomonitoring of an environment and on transfer of pollutants (eg heavy metals or radionuclides) from soil to plants. Some Authors consider impact of environment pollution on food and human health.
Some papers describe models of pollutant spreading in air or within soil. Others are devoted to various technologies to prevent or minimize industrial pollution, as well as to remediation techniques.
Papers on renewable energy sources are also very welcome.

Environmental Forensics provides a forum for scientific investigations that address environment contamination, its sources, and the historical reconstruction of its release into the environment. The context for investigations that form the published papers in the journal are often subjects to regulatory or legal proceedings, public scrutiny, and debate. In all contexts, rigorous scientific underpinnings guide the subject investigations.
Specifically, the journal is an international, quarterly, peer-reviewed publication offering scientific studies that explore or are relevant to the source, age, fate, transport, as well as human health and ecological effects of environmental contamination. Journal subject matter encompasses all aspects of contamination mentioned above within the environmental media of air, water, soil, sediments and biota. Data evaluation and analysis approaches are highlighted as well including multivariate statistical methods. Journal focus is on scientific and technical information, data, and critical analysis in the following areas:
-Contaminant Fingerprinting for source identification and/or age-dating, including (but not limited to) chemical, isotopic, chiral, mineralogical/microscopy techniques, DNA and tree-ring fingerprinting
-Specific Evaluative Techniques for source identification and/or age-dating including (but not limited to) historical document and aerial photography review, signature chemicals, atmospheric tracers and markets forensics, background concentration evaluations.
-Statistical Evaluation, Contaminant Modeling and Data Visualization
-Vapor Intrusion including delineating the source and background values of indoor air contamination
-Integrated Case Studies, employing environmental fate techniques
-Legal Considerations, including strategic considerations for environmental fate in litigation and arbitration, and regulatory statutes and actions

Polar Record is an international, peer-reviewed scholarly periodical publishing results from a wide range of polar research areas. The journal covers original primary research papers in the humanities, social sciences, physical sciences, life sciences, and polar technology, as well as papers concerning current political, economic, legal, and environmental issues in the Arctic or Antarctic. Polar Record endeavours to provide rapid publication, normally within nine months of initial submission.
One of the most important challenges facing the contemporary scientific world are problems connected with environmental protection. Intensive development of industry and agriculture has led to a rise in living standards on one hand, but an increase in environmental degradation on the other. This degradation poses a direct threat to human health and life. Solving these ever-increasing problems which seriously endanger our civilization require the united efforts of scientists and field researchers of many branches.
The "Polish Journal of Environmental Studies" publishes original papers and critical reviews on the following subjects:
-Basic and applied environmental pollution research, including environmental engineering
-Pollution control of atmospheric, water (marine and fresh), soil and biological materials
-Determination of harmful substances, including their metabolic breakdown patterns
-Analytical methods for metabolic breakdown patterns or other chemical degradation patterns in the environment and in biological samples
-Development of new analytical methods, instruments and techniques for controlling pollutants
-Circulation of pollutants in the environment and their effect on living organisms
-Environmentally oriented catalysis
-Hazards to human health and safety
-Waste utilization and management
-Land reclamation
-Conference reports, scientific and technical reports and book reviews
Population Ecology, formerly known as Researches on Population Ecology launched in Dec 1952, is the official journal of the Society of Population Ecology. Population Ecology publishes original research articles and reviews (including invited reviews) on various aspects of population ecology, from the individual to the community level. Among the specific fields included are population dynamics and distribution, evolutionary ecology, ecological genetics, theoretical models, conservation biology, agroecosystem studies, and bioresource management. Manuscripts should contain new results of empirical and/or theoretical investigations concerning facts, patterns, processes, mechanisms or concepts of population ecology; those purely descriptive in nature are not suitable for this journal. All manuscripts are reviewed anonymously by two or more referees, and the final editorial decision is made by the Chief Editor or an Associate Editor based on the referees' evaluations.
African Journal of Ecology (formerly East African Wildlife Journal) publishes original scientific research into the ecology and conservation of the animals and plants of Africa. It has a wide circulation both within and outside Africa and is the foremost research journal on the ecology of the continent. In addition to original articles, the Journal publishes comprehensive reviews on topical subjects and brief communications of preliminary results.

It is the aim of Chemoecology to promote and stimulate basic science in the field of chemical ecology by publishing research papers that integrate evolution and/or ecology and chemistry in an attempt to increase our understanding of the biological significance of natural products. Its scopes cover the evolutionary biology, mechanisms and chemistry of biotic interactions and the evolution and synthesis of the underlying natural products. Manuscripts on the evolution and ecology of trophic relationships, intra- and interspecific communication, competition, and other kinds of chemical communication in all types of organismic interactions will be considered suitable for publication. Ecological studies of trophic interactions will be considered also if they are based on the information of the transmission of natural products (e.g. fatty acids) through the food-chain. Chemoecology further publishes papers that relate to the evolution and ecology of interactions mediated by non-volatile compounds (e.g. adhesive secretions). Mechanistic approaches may include the identification, biosynthesis and metabolism of substances that carry information and the elucidation of receptor- and transduction systems using physiological, biochemical and molecular techniques. Papers describing the structure and functional morphology of organs involved in chemical communication will also be considered.

Journal of Tropical Ecology aims to address topics of general relevance and significance to tropical ecology. This includes sub-disciplines of ecology, such as conservation biology, evolutionary ecology, marine ecology, microbial ecology, molecular ecology, quantitative ecology, etc. Studies in the field of tropical medicine, specifically where it involves ecological surroundings (e.g., zoonotic or vector-borne disease ecology), are also suitable. We also welcome methods papers, provided that the techniques are well-described and are of broad general utility.
Please keep in mind that studies focused on specific geographic regions or on particular taxa will be better suited to more specialist journals. In order to help the editors make their decision, in your cover letter please address the specific hypothesis your study addresses, and how the results will interest the broad field of tropical ecology. While we will consider purely descriptive studies of outstanding general interest, the case for them should be made in the cover letter.
Theoretical Ecology publishes innovative research in theoretical ecology, broadly defined. Papers should use theoretical approaches to answer questions of ecological interest and appeal to and be readable by a broad audience of ecologists. Work that uses mathematical, statistical, computational, or conceptual approaches is all welcomed, provided that the goal is to increase ecological understanding. Papers that only use existing approaches to analyze data, or are only mathematical analyses that do not further ecological understanding, are not appropriate. Work that bridges disciplinary boundaries, such as the intersection between quantitative social sciences and ecology, or physical influences on ecological processes, will also be particularly welcome.
All areas of theoretical ecology, including ecophysiology, population ecology, behavioral ecology, evolutionary ecology, ecosystem ecology, community ecology, and ecosystem and landscape ecology are all appropriate. Theoretical papers that focus on applied ecological questions are also of particular interest.
