Annales Geophysicae
Annales Geophysicae (ANGEO) is a not-for-profit international multi- and inter-disciplinary scientific open-access journal in the field of solar–terrestrial and planetary sciences. ANGEO publishes original articles and short communications (letters) on research of the Sun–Earth system, including the science of space weather, solar–terrestrial plasma physics, the Earth's ionosphere and atmosphere, the magnetosphere, and the study of planets and planetary systems, the interaction between the different spheres of a planet, and the interaction across the planetary system. Topics range from space weathering, planetary magnetic field, and planetary interior and surface dynamics to the formation and evolution of planetary systems.
Aquatic Geochemistry
We publish original studies relating to the geochemistry of natural waters and their interactions with rocks and minerals under near Earth-surface conditions. Coverage includes theoretical, experimental, and modeling papers dealing with this subject area, as well as papers presenting observations of natural systems that stress major processes. The journal also presents `letter'-type papers for rapid publication and a limited number of review-type papers on topics of particularly broad interest or current major controversy.
Comptes Rendus Geoscience
Created in 1835 by physicist François Arago, then Permanent Secretary, the journal Comptes Rendus de l'Académie des sciences allows researchers to quickly make their work known to the international scientific community. It is divided into seven titles covering the range of scientific research fields: Mathematics, Mechanics, Chemistry, Biology, Geoscience, Physics and Palevol. Each series is led by an editor-in-chief assisted by an editorial committee. Submitted articles are reviewed by two scientists with recognized competence in the field concerned. They can be notes, announcing significant new results, as well as review articles, allowing for a fine-tuning, or even proceedings of symposia and other thematic issues, under the direction of invited editors, French or foreign.
International Journal of Earth Sciences

Journal of Cold Regions Engineering
The Journal of Cold Regions Engineering publishes practice- and research-oriented articles from any area of civil engineering that is substantially related to cold regions. Topics include ice engineering, ice force, construction on permafrost and seasonal frost, cold weather construction, environmental quality and engineering in cold regions, snow and ice control, cold regions materials, and surveying and planning in cold regions.
Journal of Quaternary Science
The Journal of Quaternary Science publishes original papers on any field of Quaternary research, and aims to promote a wider appreciation and deeper understanding of the earth's history during the last 2.58 million years. Papers from a wide range of disciplines appear in JQS including, for example, Archaeology, Botany, Climatology, Geochemistry, Geochronology, Geology, Geomorphology, Geophysics, Glaciology, Limnology, Oceanography, Palaeoceanography, Palaeoclimatology, Palaeoecology, Palaeontology, Soil Science and Zoology. The journal particularly welcomes papers reporting the results of interdisciplinary or multidisciplinary research which are of wide international interest to Quaternary scientists. Short communications and correspondence relating to views and information contained in JQS may also be considered for publication.
Mineralogy and Petrology
Mineralogy and Petrology welcomes manuscripts from the classical fields of mineralogy, igneous and metamorphic petrology, geochemistry, crystallography, as well as their applications in academic experimentation and research, materials science and engineering, for technology, industry, environment, or society. The journal strongly promotes cross-fertilization among Earth-scientific and applied materials-oriented disciplines. Purely descriptive manuscripts on regional topics will not be considered. Mineralogy and Petrology was founded in 1872 by Gustav Tschermak as "Mineralogische und Petrographische Mittheilungen". It is one of Europe's oldest geoscience journals. Former editors include outstanding names such as Gustav Tschermak, Friedrich Becke, Felix Machatschki, Josef Zemann, and Eugen F. Stumpfl.
Terra Nova
Terra Nova publishes short, innovative and provocative papers of interest to a wide readership and covering the broadest spectrum of the Solid Earth and Planetary Sciences. Terra Nova encompasses geology, geophysics and geochemistry, and extends to the fluid envelopes (atmosphere, ocean, environment) whenever coupling with the Solid Earth is involved.
Australian Journal of Earth Sciences
Australian Journal of Earth Sciences publishes peer-reviewed research papers as well as significant review articles of general interest to geoscientists. The Journal covers the whole field of earth science including basin studies, regional geophysical studies and metallogeny. There is usually a thematic issue each year featuring a selection of papers on a particular area of earth science. Shorter papers are encouraged and are given priority in publication. Critical discussion of recently published papers is also encouraged.
Geochemistry-Exploration Environment Analysis
Geochemistry: Exploration, Environment, Analysis (GEEA) is a co-owned journal of the Geological Society of London and the Association of Applied Geochemists (AAG). GEEA focuses on mineral exploration using geochemistry; related fields also covered include geoanalysis, the development of methods and techniques used to analyse geochemical materials such as rocks, soils, sediments, waters and vegetation, and environmental issues associated with mining and source apportionment. GEEA is well-known for its thematic sets on hot topics and regularly publishes papers from the biennial International Applied Geochemistry Symposium (IAGS). Papers that seek to integrate geological, geochemical and geophysical methods of exploration are particularly welcome, as are those that concern geochemical mapping and those that comprise case histories. Given the many links between exploration and environmental geochemistry, the journal encourages the exchange of concepts and data; in particular, to differentiate various sources of elements. GEEA publishes research articles; discussion papers; book reviews; editorial content and thematic sets.
Geotechnical Testing Journal
The purpose of the Geotechnical Testing Journal is (1) to provide a high-quality publication that informs the profession of new developments in soil and rock testing and related fields; (2) to provide a forum for the exchange of information, particularly that which leads to the development of new test procedures; and (3) to stimulate active participation of the profession in the work of ASTM International Committee D18 on Soil and Rock and related information. The editorial scope of this journal covers test methods for soil and rock, sampling, nomenclature, and practices relating to the determination of properties and behavior of soil and rock for engineering purposes, and for soil as a medium for plant growth.
Physical Geography
Physical Geography disseminates significant research in the environmental sciences, including research that integrates environmental processes and human activities. It publishes original papers devoted to research in climatology, geomorphology, hydrology, biogeography, soil science, human-environment interactions, and research methods in physical geography, and welcomes original contributions on topics at the intersection of two or more of these categories.
Proceedings of the Institution of Civil Engineers-Geotechnical Engineering
Geotechnical Engineering provides a forum for the publication of high quality, topical and relevant technical papers covering all aspects of geotechnical research, design, construction and performance. The journal aims to be of interest to those civil, structural or geotechnical engineering practitioners wishing to develop a greater understanding of the influence of geotechnics on the built environment.
