The British Journal of Mathematical and Statistical Psychology publishes articles relating to areas of psychology which have a greater mathematical or statistical aspect of their argument than is usually acceptable to other journals including:
• mathematical psychology
• statistics
• psychometrics
• decision making
• psychophysics
• classification
• relevant areas of mathematics, computing and computer software
These include articles that address substantitive psychological issues or that develop and extend techniques useful to psychologists. New models for psychological processes, new approaches to existing data, critiques of existing models and improved algorithms for estimating the parameters of a model are examples of articles which may be favoured.

Extremes publishes original research on all aspects of statistical extreme value theory and its applications in science, engineering, economics and other fields. Authoritative and timely reviews of theoretical advances and of extreme value methods and problems in important applied areas, including detailed case studies, are welcome and will be a regular feature. All papers are refereed. Publication will be swift: in particular electronic submission and correspondence is encouraged.
Statistical extreme value methods encompass a very wide range of problems: Extreme waves, rainfall, and floods are of basic importance in oceanography and hydrology, as are high windspeeds and extreme temperatures in meteorology and catastrophic claims in insurance. The waveforms and extremes of random loads determine lifelengths in structural safety, corrosion and metal fatigue.

Series A (Statistics in Society) publishes high quality papers that demonstrate how statistical thinking, design and analyses play a vital role in all walks of life and benefit society in general. There is no restriction on subject-matter: any interesting, topical and revelatory applications of statistics are welcome. For example, important applications of statistical and related data science methodology in medicine, business and commerce, industry, economics and finance, education and teaching, physical and biomedical sciences, the environment, the law, government and politics, demography, psychology, sociology and sport all fall within the journal's remit. The journal is therefore aimed at a wide statistical audience and at professional statisticians in particular. Its emphasis is on well-written and clearly reasoned quantitative approaches to problems in the real world rather than the exposition of technical detail. Thus, although the methodological basis of papers must be sound and adequately explained, methodology per se should not be the main focus of a Series A paper. Of particular interest are papers on topical or contentious statistical issues, papers which give reviews or exposés of current statistical concerns and papers which demonstrate how appropriate statistical thinking has contributed to our understanding of important substantive questions. Historical, professional and biographical contributions are also welcome, as are discussions of methods of data collection and of ethical issues, provided that all such papers have substantial statistical relevance.
Mathematics in Computer Science publishes high-quality original research papers on the development of theories and methods for computer and information sciences, the design, implementation, and analysis of algorithms and software tools for mathematical computation and reasoning, and the integration of mathematics and computer science for scientific and engineering applications. Insightful survey articles may be submitted for publication by invitation. As one of its distinct features, the journal publishes mainly special issues on carefully selected topics, reflecting the trends of research and development in the broad area of mathematics in computer science. Submission of proposals for special issues is welcome.

The Journal of Applied Mathematics and Physics (ZAMP) publishes papers of high scientific quality in Fluid Mechanics, Mechanics of Solids and Differential Equations/Applied Mathematics. A paper will be considered for publication if at least one of the following conditions is fulfilled:
The paper includes results or discussions which can be considered original and highly interesting.
The paper presents a new method.
The author reviews a problem or a class of problems with such profound insight that further research is encouraged.
The readers of ZAMP will find not only articles in their own special field but also original work in neighbouring domains. This will lead to an exchange of ideas; concepts and methods which have proven to be successful in one field may well be useful to other areas. ZAMP attempts to publish articles reasonably quickly. Longer papers are published in the section "Original Papers", shorter ones may appear under "Brief Reports" where publication is particularly rapid. The journal includes a "Book Review" section and provides information on activities (such as upcoming symposia, meetings or special courses) which are of interest to its readers.
