ANT’s inclusive definition of algebra and number theory allows it to print research covering a wide range of subtopics, including algebraic and arithmetic geometry. ANT publishes high-quality articles of interest to a broad readership, at a level surpassing all but the top four or five mathematics journals. It exists in both print and electronic forms.
The policies of ANT are set by the editorial board — a group of working mathematicians — rather than by a profit-oriented company, so they will remain friendly to mathematicians' interests. In particular, they will promote broad dissemination, easy electronic access, and permissive use of content to the greatest extent compatible with survival of the journal. All electronic content becomes free and open access 5 years after publication.

Manuscripts submitted to Numerical Linear Algebra with Applications should include large-scale broad-interest applications in which challenging computational results are integral to the approach investigated and analysed. Manuscripts that, in the Editor’s view, do not satisfy these conditions will not be accepted for review.
Numerical Linear Algebra with Applications receives submissions in areas that address developing, analysing and applying linear algebra algorithms for solving problems arising in multilinear (tensor) algebra, in statistics, such as Markov Chains, as well as in deterministic and stochastic modelling of large-scale networks, algorithm development, performance analysis or related computational aspects.
Topics covered include: Standard and Generalized Conjugate Gradients, Multigrid and Other Iterative Methods; Preconditioning Methods; Direct Solution Methods; Numerical Methods for Eigenproblems; Newton-like Methods for Nonlinear Equations; Parallel and Vectorizable Algorithms in Numerical Linear Algebra; Application of Methods of Numerical Linear Algebra in Science, Engineering and Economics.

All articles submitted to this journal are peer-reviewed. The AMS has a single blind peer-review process in which the reviewers know who the authors of the manuscript are, but the authors do not have access to the information on who the peer reviewers are.
This journal is devoted to research articles in all areas of pure and applied mathematics. To be published in the Transactions, a paper must be correct, new, and significant. Further, it must be well written and of interest to a substantial number of mathematicians. Piecemeal results, such as an inconclusive step toward an unproved major theorem or a minor variation on a known result, are in general not acceptable for publication. Papers of less than 15 printed pages that meet the above criteria should be submitted to the Proceedings of the American Mathematical Society. Published pages are the same size as those generated in the style files provided for AMS-LaTeX.

Finite Fields and Their Applications is a peer-reviewed technical journal publishing papers in finite field theory as well as in applications of finite fields. As a result of applications in a wide variety of areas, finite fields are increasingly important in several areas of mathematics, including linear and abstract algebra, number theory and algebraic geometry, as well as in computer science, statistics, information theory, and engineering.
For cohesion, and because so many applications rely on various theoretical properties of finite fields, it is essential that there be a core of high-quality papers on theoretical aspects. In addition, since much of the vitality of the area comes from computational problems, the journal publishes papers on computational aspects of finite fields as well as on algorithms and complexity of finite field-related methods.
The journal also publishes papers in various applications including, but not limited to, algebraic coding theory, cryptology, combinatorial design theory, pseudorandom number generation, and linear recurring sequences. There are other areas of application to be included, but the important point is that finite fields play a nontrivial role in the theory, application, or algorithm.
