Brill’s Journal of Afroasiatic Languages and Linguistics is a new peer-reviewed international forum devoted to the descriptive and theoretical study of Afroasiatic languages. The territory of the Afroasiatic family spans a vast area to the South of the Mediterranean, extending from the Atlantic Ocean to the Middle East and reaching deep into the heart of Africa. Some of the Afroasiatic languages have been studied for centuries, while others still remain partially or entirely undocumented. In the course of the second half of the 20th century, the constantly increasing qualitative and quantitative contribution of Afroasiatic languages to the elaboration of linguistic theory has met with considerable attention from the linguistic community. The Journal seeks top-level contributions in phonology, morphology, syntax, semantics, comparative and historical linguistics. Its target audience comprises specialists in Afroasiatic languages and general linguists.The online edition offers the option to include sound and video files as well as other datafiles.

Linguistic Research is an international journal which offers a forum for the discussion of theoretical research dealing with natural language data. The journal publishes articles of high quality which make a clear contribution to current debate in all branches of theoretical linguistics. The journal embraces both synchronic and diachronic perspectives, and carries articles that address language-specific as well as cross-linguistic and typological research questions. The journal features syntax, semantics, morphology, phonology, phonetics, and pragmatics and is currently published quarterly (March, June, September, and December), including the special September issue with a particular focus on applied linguistics covering (second) language acquisition, ESL/EFL, conversation/discourse analysis, etc. All submitted manuscripts are subject to initial evaluation by the Editors, and, if found suitable for further consideration, to double-blind peer review by independent expert referees.

Concentric: Studies in Linguistics is a refereed, biannual journal, publishing research articles on all aspects of linguistic studies on the languages in the Asia-Pacific region. Review articles and book reviews with solid argumentation are also considered. The journal is indexed in Scopus, Emerging Sources Citation Index (ESCI), Modern Language Association (MLA) Directory of Periodicals, MLA International Bibliography, Linguistics & Language Behavior Abstracts (LLBA), EBSCOhost, Communication & Mass Media Complete (CMMC), Airiti Library (AL), Taiwan Citation Index-Humanities and Social Sciences, and Taiwan Humanities Citation Index(THCI)-Level 1. First published in 1964 under the title,The Concentric, the journal aimed to promote academic research in the fields of linguistics and English literature, and to provide an avenue for researchers to share results of their investigations with other researchers and practitioners. Later in 1976, the journal was renamed as Studies in English Literature and Linguistics, and in 2001 was further renamed as Concentric: Studies in English Literature and Linguistics. As the quantity of research in the fields of theoretical linguistics, applied linguistics, and English literature has increased greatly in recent years, the journal has evolved into two publications. Beginning in 2004, these two journals have been published under the titles Concentric: Studies in Linguistics and Concentric: Literary and Cultural Studies respectively.
The English Academy Review: A Journal of English Studies (EAR) is the journal of the English Academy of Southern Africa. In line with the Academy’s vision of promoting effective English as a vital resource and of respecting Africa’s diverse linguistic ecology, it welcomes submissions on language as well as educational, philosophical and literary topics from Southern Africa and across the globe. In addition to refereed academic articles, it publishes creative writing and book reviews of significant new publications as well as lectures and proceedings. EAR is an accredited journal that is published biannually by Unisa Press (South Africa) and Taylor & Francis. Its editorial policy is governed by the Council of the English Academy of Southern Africa who also appoint the Editor-in-Chief for a three-year term of office. Guest editors are appointed from time to time on an ad hoc basis.
