Radiation Physics and Chemistry is a multidisciplinary journal that provides a medium for publication of substantial and original papers, reviews, and short communications which focus on research and developments involving ionizing radiation in radiation physics, radiation chemistry and radiation processing. The journal aims to publish papers with significance to an international audience, containing substantial novelty and scientific impact. The Editors reserve the rights to reject, with or without external review, papers that do not meet these criteria. This could include papers that are very similar to previous publications, only with changed target substrates, employed materials, analyzed sites and experimental methods, report results without presenting new insights and/or hypothesis testing, or do not focus on the radiation effects.

Progress in Nuclear Energy

Elsevier Ltd•ISSN: 0149-1970•England
3.2
Clarivate IF

Progress in Nuclear Energy is an international review journal covering all aspects of nuclear science and engineering. In keeping with the maturity of nuclear power, articles on safety, siting and environmental problems are encouraged, as are those associated with economics and fuel management. However, basic physics and engineering will remain an important aspect of the editorial policy. Articles published are either of a review nature or present new material in more depth. They are aimed at researchers and technically-oriented managers working in the nuclear energy field. Please note the following: 1) PNE seeks high quality research papers which are medium to long in length. Short research papers should be submitted to the journal Annals in Nuclear Energy. 2) PNE reserves the right to reject papers which are based solely on routine application of computer codes used to produce reactor designs or explain existing reactor phenomena. Such papers, although worthy, are best left as laboratory reports whereas Progress in Nuclear Energy seeks papers of originality, which are archival in nature, in the fields of mathematical and experimental nuclear technology, including fission, fusion (blanket physics, radiation damage), safety, materials aspects, economics, etc. 3) Review papers, which may occasionally be invited, are particularly sought by the journal in these fields.

The International Journal of Radiation Biology publishes original papers, reviews, current topic articles, technical notes/reports, and meeting reports on the effects of ionizing, UV and visible radiation, accelerated particles, electromagnetic fields, ultrasound, heat and related modalities. The focus is on the biological effects of such radiations: from radiation chemistry to the spectrum of responses of living organisms and underlying mechanisms, including genetic abnormalities, repair phenomena, cell death, dose modifying agents and tissue responses. Application of basic studies to medical uses of radiation extends the coverage to practical problems such as physical and chemical adjuvants which improve the effectiveness of radiation in cancer therapy. Assessment of the hazards of low doses of radiation is also considered.
