Journal of Intelligent Information Systems

Springer US•ISSN: 0925-9902 / 1573-7675•Netherlands
3.5
Clarivate IF

The mission of the Journal of Intelligent Information Systems: Integrating Artifical Intelligence and Database Technologies is to foster and present research and development results focused on the integration of artificial intelligence and database technologies to create next generation information systems - Intelligent Information Systems. These new information systems embody knowledge that allows them to exhibit intelligent behavior, cooperate with users and other systems in problem solving, discovery, access, retrieval and manipulation of a wide variety of multimedia data and knowledge, and reason under uncertainty. Increasingly, knowledge-directed inference processes are being used to: discover knowledge from large data collections, provide cooperative support to users in complex query formulation and refinement, access, retrieve, store and manage large collections of multimedia data and knowledge, integrate information from multiple heterogeneous data and knowledge sources, and reason about information under uncertain conditions. Multimedia and hypermedia information systems now operate on a global scale over the Internet, and new tools and techniques are needed to manage these dynamic and evolving information spaces. The Journal of Intelligent Information Systems provides a forum wherein academics, researchers and practitioners may publish high-quality, original and state-of-the-art papers describing theoretical aspects, systems architectures, analysis and design tools and techniques, and implementation experiences in intelligent information systems. The categories of papers published by JIIS include: research papers, invited papters, meetings, workshop and conference annoucements and reports, survey and tutorial articles, and book reviews. Short articles describing open problems or their solutions are also welcome.

Clarivate IF

Computer Speech & Language publishes reports of original research related to the recognition, understanding, production, coding and mining of speech and language. The speech and language sciences have a long history, but it is only relatively recently that large-scale implementation of and experimentation with complex models of speech and language processing has become feasible. Such research is often carried out somewhat separately by practitioners of artificial intelligence, computer science, electronic engineering, information retrieval, linguistics, phonetics, or psychology.

Cognitive Systems Research

Elsevier•ISSN: 1389-0417•Netherlands
2.9
Clarivate IF

Cognitive Systems Research is dedicated to the study of human-level cognition. As such, it welcomes papers which advance the understanding, design and applications of cognitive and intelligent systems, both natural and artificial. The journal brings together a broad community studying cognition in its many facets in vivo and in silico, across the developmental spectrum, focusing on individual capacities or on entire architectures. It aims to foster debate and integrate ideas, concepts, constructs, theories, models and techniques from across different disciplines and different perspectives on human-level cognition. The scope of interest includes the study of cognitive capacities and architectures - both brain-inspired and non-brain-inspired - and the application of cognitive systems to real-world problems as far as it offers insights relevant for the understanding of cognition. Cognitive Systems Research therefore welcomes mature and cutting-edge research approaching cognition from a systems-oriented perspective, both theoretical and empirically-informed, in the form of original manuscripts, short communications, opinion articles, systematic reviews, and topical survey articles from the fields of Cognitive Science (including Philosophy of Cognitive Science), Artificial Intelligence/Computer Science, Cognitive Robotics, Developmental Science, Psychology, and Neuroscience and Neuromorphic Engineering. Empirical studies will be considered if they are supplemented by theoretical analyses and contributions to theory development and/or computational modelling studies.

Clarivate IF

Neural Processing Letters is an international journal publishing research results and innovative ideas on all aspects of artificial neural networks. Coverage includes theoretical developments, biological models, new formal modes, learning, applications, software and hardware developments, and prospective researches. The journal promotes fast exchange of information in the community of neural network researchers and users. The resurgence of interest in the field of artificial neural networks since the beginning of the 1980s is coupled to tremendous research activity in specialized or multidisciplinary groups. Research, however, is not possible without good communication between people and the exchange of information, especially in a field covering such different areas; fast communication is also a key aspect, and this is the reason for Neural Processing Letters

Journal of Mathematical Imaging and Vision

Springer US•ISSN: 0924-9907 / 1573-7683•Netherlands
1.8
Clarivate IF

The Journal of Mathematical Imaging and Vision is a technical journal publishing important new developments in mathematical imaging. The journal publishes research articles, invited papers, and expository articles. Current developments in new image processing hardware, the advent of multisensor data fusion, and rapid advances in vision research have led to an explosive growth in the interdisciplinary field of imaging science. This growth has resulted in the development of highly sophisticated mathematical models and theories. The journal emphasizes the role of mathematics as a rigorous basis for imaging science. This provides a sound alternative to present journals in this area. Contributions are judged on the basis of mathematical content. Articles may be physically speculative but need to be mathematically sound. Emphasis is placed on innovative or established mathematical techniques applied to vision and imaging problems in a novel way, as well as new developments and problems in mathematics arising from these applications. The scope of the journal includes: computational models of vision; imaging algebra and mathematical morphology mathematical methods in reconstruction, compactification, and coding filter theory probabilistic, statistical, geometric, topological, and fractal techniques and models in imaging science inverse optics wave theory. Specific application areas of interest include, but are not limited to: all aspects of image formation and representation medical, biological, industrial, geophysical, astronomical and military imaging image analysis and image understanding parallel and distributed computing computer vision architecture design.

1.7
Clarivate IF

The large number of existing documents and the production of a multitude of new ones every year raise important issues in efficient handling, retrieval and storage of these documents and the information which they contain. This has led to the emergence of new research domains dealing with the recognition by computers of the constituent elements of documents - including characters, symbols, text, lines, graphics, images, handwriting, signatures, etc. In addition, these new domains deal with automatic analyses of the overall physical and logical structures of documents, with the ultimate objective of a high-level understanding of their semantic content. We have also seen renewed interest in optical character recognition (OCR) and handwriting recognition during the last decade. Document analysis and recognition are obviously the next stage. Automatic, intelligent processing of documents is at the intersections of many fields of research, especially of computer vision, image analysis, pattern recognition and artificial intelligence, as well as studies on reading, handwriting and linguistics. Although quality document related publications continue to appear in journals dedicated to these domains, the community will benefit from having this journal as a focal point for archival literature dedicated to document analysis and recognition.
