Taxonomic manuscripts with isolated species descriptions are generally discouraged, especially for genera with large numbers of undescribed species; it lies at the discretion of the editorial team whether such manuscripts are considered. Papers on new distribution records will be considered if the new records are sufficiently important or unexpected from a biogeographical perspective. Such papers could, for example, discuss relevant biological/ecological data and/or biogeographical implications such as analysis by species-distribution modelling. Journal of Medical Entomology is published bimonthly in January, March, May, July, September, and November. The journal publishes reports on all phases of medical entomology and medical acarology, including the systematics and biology of insects, acarines, and other arthropods of public health and veterinary significance. In addition to full-length research articles, the journal publishes Reviews, interpretive articles in a Forum section, Short Communications, and Letters to the Editor.

Archives of Insect Biochemistry and Physiology is an international journal that publishes articles in English that are of interest to insect biochemists and physiologists. Generally these articles will be in, or related to, one of the following subject areas: Behavior, Bioinformatics, Carbohydrates, Cell Line Development, Cell Signalling, Development, Drug Discovery, Endocrinology, Enzymes, Lipids, Molecular Biology, Neurobiology, Nucleic Acids, Nutrition, Peptides, Pharmacology, Pollinators, Proteins, Toxicology. Archives will publish only original articles. Articles that are confirmatory in nature or deal with analytical methods previously described will not be accepted.

Arthropod Systematics & Phylogeny releases three times per year. Research fields covered are the taxonomy, morphology/anatomy, phylogeny (molecular or morphology-based), historical biogeography and palaeontology of arthropod taxa. Arthropod Systematics & Phylogeny is the successor of Entomologische Abhandlungen, formerly published by the Museum of Zoology Dresden, Germany.

Entomologia Experimentalis et Applicata publishes top quality original research papers in the fields of experimental biology and ecology of insects and other terrestrial arthropods, with both pure and applied scopes. Mini-reviews, technical notes and media reviews are also published. Ecological Entomology publishes top-quality original research on the ecology of insects and related invertebrate taxa. Our aim is to publish papers that will be of considerable interest to the wide community of ecologists who are motivated by ecological or evolutionary theory. Physiological Entomology broadly considers “how insects work” and how they are adapted to their environments at all levels from genes and molecules, anatomy and structure, to behaviour and interactions of whole organisms. We publish high quality experiment based papers reporting research on insects and other arthropods as well as occasional reviews. The journal thus has a focus on physiological and experimental approaches to understanding how insects function. Apidologie is a peer-reviewed journal devoted to the biology of insects belonging to the superfamily Apoidea. Its range of coverage includes behavior, ecology, pollination, genetics, physiology, systematics, toxicology and pathology. Also accepted are papers on the rearing, exploitation and practical use of Apoidea and their products, as far as they make a clear contribution to the understanding of bee biology. Apidologie is an official publication of the Institut National de la Recherche Agronomique (INRA) and Deutscher Imkerbund E.V. (D.I.B.)

Arthropod-Plant Interactions is dedicated to publishing high quality original papers and reviews with a broad fundamental or applied focus on ecological, biological, and evolutionary aspects of the interactions between insects and other arthropods with plants. Coverage extends to all aspects of such interactions including chemical, biochemical, genetic, and molecular analysis, as well reporting on multitrophic studies, ecophysiology, and mutualism. Arthropod-Plant Interactions encourages the submission of forum papers that challenge prevailing hypotheses. The journal encourages a diversity of opinion by presenting both invited and unsolicited review papers.

Established in 1910, the internationally recognised Bulletin of Entomological Research aims to further global knowledge of entomology through the generalisation of research findings rather than providing more entomological exceptions. The Bulletin publishes high quality and original research papers, 'critiques' and review articles concerning insects or other arthropods of economic importance in agriculture, forestry, stored products, biological control, medicine, animal health and natural resource management. The scope of papers addresses the biology, ecology, behaviour, physiology and systematics of individuals and populations, with a particular emphasis upon the major current and emerging pests of agriculture, horticulture and forestry, and vectors of human and animal diseases. This includes the interactions between species (plants, hosts for parasites, natural enemies and whole communities), novel methodological developments, including molecular biology, in an applied context. The Bulletin does not publish the results of pesticide testing or traditional taxonomic revisions.

Insectes Sociaux (IS) is the journal of the International Union for the Study of Social Insects (IUSSI). It covers the various aspects of the biology and evolution of social insects and other presocial arthropods; these include ecology, ethology, morphology, population genetics, reproduction, communication, sociobiology, caste differentiation and social parasitism. The journal publishes original research papers and reviews, as well as short communications. An international editorial board of eminent specialists attests to the high quality of Insectes Sociaux, a forum for all scientists and readers interested in the study of social insects.

The Journal of Hymenoptera Research is a peer-reviewed, open-access, rapid online journal launched to accelerate research on all aspects of Hymenoptera, including biology, behavior, ecology, systematics, taxonomy, genetics, and morphology. All published papers can be freely copied, downloaded, printed and distributed at no charge for the reader. Authors are thus encouraged to post the pdf files of published papers on their homepages or elsewhere to expedite distribution. There is no charge for color.

Florida Entomologist is the official journal of the Florida Entomological Society. Volumes 1-3 were published under the name The Florida Buggist. The Florida Entomological Society still produces the traditionally printed version of Florida Entomologist, but you can also view, search, or print any article published since June 1917 by accessing online files. Web access is made possible by the Society’s electronic publication project begun in 1993

International Journal of Pest Management publishes original research papers and reviews concerned with pest management in the broad sense, covering the control of pests (invertebrates, vertebrates and weeds) and diseases of plants, fungi and their products – including biological control, varietal and cultural control, chemical controland interference methods. The management of invasive species is of special interest. We also encourage submissions dealing with interactions of multiple pests such as arthropods and plant pathogens, pathogens and weeds or weeds and arthropods as well as those dealing with the indirect and direct effects of climate change on sustainable agricultural practices.

The Journal of Pesticide Science publishes the results of original research regarding the chemistry and biochemistry of pesticides including bio-based materials. It also covers their metabolism, toxicology, environmental fate and formulation.

Arthropod Structure & Development is a Journal of Arthropod Structural Biology, Development, and Functional Morphology; it considers manuscripts that deal with micro- and neuroanatomy, development, biomechanics, organogenesis in particular under comparative and evolutionary aspects but not merely taxonomic papers. The aim of the journal is to publish papers in the areas of functional and comparative anatomy and development, with an emphasis on the role of cellular organization in organ function. The journal will also publish papers on organogenisis, embryonic and postembryonic development, and organ or tissue regeneration and repair. Manuscripts dealing with comparative and evolutionary aspects of microanatomy and development are encouraged.
