The Belgian Journal of Linguistics is the annual publication of the Linguistic Society of Belgium and includes selected contributions from the international meetings organized by the LSB. Its volumes are topical and address a wide range of subjects in different fields of linguistics and neighboring disciplines (e.g. translation, poetics, political discourse). The BJL transcends its local basis, not only through the international orientation of its active advisory board, but also by inviting international scholars, both to act as guest editors and to contribute original papers. Articles go through an external and discriminating review process with due attention to ensuring the maintenance of the journal"s high-quality content.
Aiming at bringing together the research workers and all that sympathize with the subject, like also all that are interested in bohemistic, the journal will consist of – apart from the scientific – the review and the report sections. That is why I have decided to focus on this three main sections: 1. Scientific section, with information on current scientific-research output in the field of bohemistic, and with articles on Czech literary studies and linguistics, together with comparative works. 2. Review and report section with information concerning books on bohemistic that appear on the Czech, Polish and world market. It will surely help the readers with being up-to-date with all novelties. For this purpose we will also supplement the journal with critical review of what is going on in the publishing market, the reviews of the novelties and reports on scientific researches. 3. Annalistic section in which I would like to include complete and useful information concerning bohemistic centers in the world, jubilees of Czech and world bohemists, scientific conferences devoted to the issues of Czech literature and language etc. This section will also run the reports from conferences, articles on anniversaries and jubilees of Polish and world bohemists, and also reports on bohemistic institutions and organizations all over the world.

Chinese as a Second Language Research (CASLAR) focuses on research on the acquisition, development, and use of Chinese as a Second Language. It supports scholars and researchers from different linguistic fields, and serves as a forum to discuss, investigate, and better understand Chinese as a Second Language. Each issue (2 per year) of the journal publishes three papers in Chinese and three papers in English; summaries are always provided both in Chinese and English. We are especially interested in publishing articles and research papers that investigate how empirical findings of CSL research can advance and develop better Chinese language teaching methodologies, explore the implications of CSL research for theoretical developments and practical applications, focus on the acquisition and use of varieties of CSL, study the nature of interaction between native speakers and non-native speakers of Chinese, address major issues of second language acquisition from the perspective of CSL, analyze the ways in which language is both shaped by culture and is the medium through which culture is created.

D&D seeks previously unpublished, high quality articles on the analysis of discourse and dialogue that contain -experimental and/or theoretical studies related to the construction, representation, and maintenance of (linguistic) context -linguistic analysis of phenomena characteristic of discourse and/or dialogue (including, but not limited to: reference and anaphora, presupposition and accommodation, topicality and salience, implicature, ---discourse structure and rhetorical relations, discourse markers and particles, the semantics and -pragmatics of dialogue acts, questions, imperatives, non-sentential utterances, intonation, and meta--communicative phenomena such as repair and grounding) -experimental and/or theoretical studies of agents' information states and their dynamics in conversational interaction -new analytical frameworks that advance theoretical studies of discourse and dialogue -research on systems performing coreference resolution, discourse structure parsing, event and temporal -structure, and reference resolution in multimodal communication -experimental and/or theoretical results yielding new insight into non-linguistic interaction in -communication -work on natural language understanding (including spoken language understanding), dialogue management, -reasoning, and natural language generation (including text-to-speech) in dialogue systems -work related to the design and engineering of dialogue systems (including, but not limited to: -evaluation, usability design and testing, rapid application deployment, embodied agents, affect detection, -mixed-initiative, adaptation, and user modeling). -extremely well-written surveys of existing work. Highest priority is given to research reports that are specifically written for a multidisciplinary audience. The audience is primarily researchers on discourse and dialogue and its associated fields, including computer scientists, linguists, psychologists, philosophers, roboticists, sociologists.
