Gerade indem sie die traditionellen Grenzen ihres Faches überschreitet, trägt die Geographische Zeitschrift maßgeblich zur Weiterentwicklung und Fortschritt der Anthropogeographie bei.
Journal “GEOGRAPHY, ENVIRONMENT, SUSTAINABILITY” is founded by the Faculty of Geography of Lomonosov Moscow State University, The Russian Geographical Society and by the Institute of Geography of RAS. It is the official journal of Russian Geographical Society, and a fully open access journal. Journal “GEOGRAPHY, ENVIRONMENT, SUSTAINABILITY” publishes original, innovative, interdisciplinary and timely research letter articles and concise reviews on studies of the Earth and its environment scientific field. This goal covers a broad spectrum of scientific research areas (physical-, social-, economic-, cultural geography, environmental sciences and sustainable development) and also considers contemporary and widely used research methods, such as geoinformatics, cartography, remote sensing (including from space), geophysics, geochemistry, etc. “GEOGRAPHY, ENVIRONMENT, SUSTAINABILITY” is the only original English-language journal in the field of geography and environmental sciences published in Russia. It is supposed to be an outlet from the Russian-speaking countries to Europe and an inlet from Europe to the Russian-speaking countries regarding environmental and Earth sciences, geography and sustainability. The main sections of the journal are the theory of geography and ecology, the theory of sustainable development, use of natural resources, natural resources assessment, global and regional changes of environment and climate, social-economical geography, ecological regional planning, sustainable regional development, applied aspects of geography and ecology, geoinformatics and ecological cartography, ecological problems of oil and gas sector, nature conservations, health and environment, and education for sustainable development. Articles are freely available to both subscribers and the wider public with permitted reuse.
GeoJournal of Tourism and Geosites is a scientific publication, with an international status. The Journal is issued under the aegis of the University of Oradea, Department of Geography, Tourism and Territorial Planning, Territorial Studies and Analysis Centre (Romania) and the Academy of Physical Education and Sports from Gdańsk, Faculty of Tourism and Recreation (Poland). At the initiative of an international group of specialists, based on an editorial and scientific committee with a wide international coverage, including leading figures in the field, in 2008 was published the first English issue of the GeoJournal of Tourism and Geosites. The printable format (2-3 issues per year) is supported by the on-line version. The journal aims to publish relevant contributions in tourism, geosites and other areas whose analysis is related to these fields, standing out through originality and scientific contribution to the knowledge and development of this area. An important objective is to promote academic and applied research based on interdisciplinarity with a complex local and global approach.
Geomatica (formerly CISM Journal ACSGC), is the official quarterly publication of the Canadian Institute of Geomatics. It is the oldest surveying and mapping publication in Canada and was first published in 1922 as the Journal of the Dominion Land Surveyors’ Association. Geomatica is dedicated to the dissemination of information on technical advances in the geomatics sciences. The internationally respected publication contains special features, notices of conferences, calendar of event, articles on personalities, review of current books, industry news and new products, all of which keep the publication lively and informative.
Great Plains Research publishes original research and scholarly reviews of important advances in the natural and social sciences with relevance to and special emphases on environmental, economic and social issues in the Great Plains. It includes reviews of books and reports on symposia and conferences that included sessions on topics pertaining to the Great Plains. Papers must be comprehensible to a multidisciplinary community of scholars and lay readers who share interest in the region. Stimulating review and synthesis articles will be published if they inform, educate, and highlight both current status and further research directions.
