Journal of Muscle Research and Cell Motility

Springer International Publishing•ISSN: 0142-4319 / 1573-2657•Netherlands
2.2
Clarivate IF

The Journal of Muscle Research and Cell Motility has as its main aim the publication of original research which bears on either the excitation and contraction of muscle, the analysis of any one of the processes involved therein, the processes underlying contractility and motility of animal and plant cells, the toxicology and pharmacology related to contractility, or the formation, dynamics and turnover of contractile structures in muscle and non-muscle cells. Studies describing the impact of pathogenic mutations in genes encoding components of contractile structures in humans or animals are welcome, provided they offer mechanistic insight into the disease process or the underlying gene function. The policy of the Journal is to encourage any form of novel practical study whatever its specialist interest, as long as it falls within this broad field. Theoretical essays are welcome provided that they are concise and suggest practical ways in which they may be tested. Manuscripts reporting new mutations in known disease genes without validation and mechanistic insight will not be considered. It is the policy of the journal that cells lines, hybridomas and DNA clones should be made available by the developers to any qualified investigator. Submission of a manuscript for publication constitutes an agreement of the authors to abide by this principle.

During the last decades, 'Cytogenetic and Genome Research' has been the leading forum for original reports and reviews in human and animal cytogenetics, including molecular, clinical and comparative cytogenetics. In recent years, most of its papers have centered on genome research, including gene cloning and sequencing, gene mapping, gene regulation and expression, cancer genetics, comparative genetics, gene linkage and related areas. The journal also publishes key papers on chromosome aberrations in somatic, meiotic and malignant cells. Its scope has expanded to include studies on invertebrate and plant cytogenetics and genomics. Also featured are the vast majority of the reports of the International Workshops on Human Chromosome Mapping, the reports of international human and animal chromosome nomenclature committees, and proceedings of the American and European cytogenetic conferences and other events. In addition to regular issues, the journal has been publishing since 2002 a series of topical issues on a broad variety of themes from cytogenetic and genome research.

Integrative Biology

Royal Society of Chemistry•ISSN: 1757-9694 / 1757-9708•England
2
Clarivate IF

Integrative Biology publishes original biological research based on innovative experimental and theoretical methodologies that answer biological questions. The journal is multi- and inter-disciplinary, calling upon expertise and technologies from the physical sciences, engineering, computation, imaging, and mathematics to address critical questions in biological systems. Research using experimental or computational quantitative technologies to characterise biological systems at the molecular, cellular, tissue and population levels is welcomed. Of particular interest are submissions contributing to quantitative understanding of how component properties at one level in the dimensional scale (nano to micro) determine system behaviour at a higher level of complexity. Studies of synthetic systems, whether used to elucidate fundamental principles of biological function or as the basis for novel applications are also of interest.

European Journal of Histochemistry

PagePress Publications•ISSN: 1121-760X / 2038-8306•Italy
1.9
Clarivate IF

The Journal publishes original papers concerning investigations by histochemical and immunohistochemical methods, and performed with the aid of light, super-resolution and electron microscopy, cytometry and imaging techniques. Coverage extends to: functional cell and tissue biology in animals and plants; cell differentiation and death; cell-cell interaction and molecular trafficking; biology of cell development and senescence; nerve and muscle cell biology; cellular basis of diseases. The histochemical approach is nowadays essentially aimed at locating molecules in the very place where they exert their biological roles, and at describing dynamically specific chemical activities in living cells. Basic research on cell functional organization is essential for understanding the mechanisms underlying major biological processes such as differentiation, the control of tissue homeostasis, and the regulation of normal and tumor cell growth. Even more than in the past, the European Journal of Histochemistry, as a journal of functional cytology, represents the venue where cell scientists may present and discuss their original results, technical improvements and theories.
