Neuroimmunomodulation

S. Karger AG•ISSN: 1021-7401 / 1423-0216•Switzerland
3.7
Clarivate IF

The rapidly expanding area of research known as neuroimmunomodulation explores the way in which the nervous system interacts with the immune system via neural, hormonal, and paracrine actions. Encompassing both basic and clinical research, 'Neuroimmunomodulation' reports on all aspects of these interactions. Basic investigations consider all neural and humoral networks from molecular genetics through cell regulation to integrative systems of the body. The journal also aims to clarify the basic mechanisms involved in the pathogenesis of the CNS pathology in AIDS patients and in various neurodegenerative diseases. Although primarily devoted to research articles, timely reviews are published on a regular basis.

Clarivate IF

JLB is a peer-reviewed, academic journal published by the Society for Leukocyte Biology for its members and the community of immunobiologists. The journal publishes papers devoted to the exploration of the cellular and molecular biology of granulocytes, mononuclear phagocytes, lymphocytes, NK cells, and other cells involved in host physiology and defense/resistance against disease. Since all cells in the body can directly or indirectly contribute to the maintenance of the integrity of the organism and restoration of homeostasis through repair, JLB also considers articles involving epithelial, endothelial, fibroblastic, neural, and other somatic cell types participating in host defense. Studies covering pathophysiology, cell development, differentiation and trafficking; fundamental, translational and clinical immunology, inflammation, extracellular mediators and effector molecules; receptors, signal transduction and genes are considered relevant. Research articles and reviews that provide a novel understanding in any of these fields are given priority as well as technical advances related to leukocyte research methods.

The Australasian Society for Immunology Incorporated (ASI) was created by the amalgamation in 1991 of the Australian Society for Immunology, formed in 1970, and the New Zealand Society for Immunology, formed in 1975. The aim of the Society is to encourage and support the discipline of immunology in the Australasian region. It is a broadly based Society, embracing clinical and experimental, cellular and molecular immunology in humans and animals. Immunology Letters provides a vehicle for the speedy publication of experimental papers, (mini)Reviews and Letters to the Editor addressing all aspects of molecular and cellular immunology. The essential criteria for publication will be clarity, experimental soundness and novelty. Results contradictory to current accepted thinking or ideas divergent from actual dogmas will be considered for publication provided that they are based on solid experimental findings. Preference will be given to papers of immediate importance to other investigators, either by their experimental data, new ideas or new methodology. Scientific correspondence to the Editor-in-Chief related to the published papers may also be accepted provided that they are short and scientifically relevant to the papers mentioned, in order to provide a continuing forum for discussion.

Infectious Agents and Cancer

BioMed Central•ISSN: 1750-9378•England
3.2
Clarivate IF

Infectious Agents and Cancer is an open access, peer-reviewed online journal that encompasses all aspects of basic, clinical, epidemiological and translational research providing an insight into the association between chronic infections and cancer. The journal welcomes submissions in the pathogen-related cancer areas and other related topics, in particular: • HPV and anogenital cancers, as well as head and neck cancers; • EBV and Burkitt lymphoma; • HCV/HBV and hepatocellular carcinoma as well as lymphoproliferative diseases; • HHV8 and Kaposi sarcoma; • HTLV and leukemia; • Cancers in Low- and Middle-income countries. The link between infection and cancer has become well established over the past 50 years, and infection-associated cancer contribute up to 16% of cancers in developed countries and 33% in less developed countries. Preventive vaccines have been developed for only two cancer-causing viruses, highlighting both the opportunity to prevent infection-associated cancers by vaccination and the gaps that remain before vaccines can be developed for other cancer-causing agents. These gaps are due to incomplete understanding of the basic biology, natural history, epidemiology of many of the pathogens that cause cancer, the mechanisms they exploit to cause cancer, and how to interrupt progression to cancer in human populations. Early diagnosis or identification of lesions at high risk of progression represent the current most critical research area of the field supported by recent advances in genomics and proteomics technologies.

Medical Microbiology and Immunology

Springer Berlin Heidelberg•ISSN: 0300-8584 / 1432-1831•Germany
3.1

Medical Microbiology and Immunology (MMIM) publishes key findings on all aspects of the interrelationship between infectious agents and the immune system of their hosts. The journal´s main focus is original research work on intrinsic, innate or adaptive immune responses to viral, bacterial, fungal and parasitic (protozoan and helminthic) infections and on the virulence of the respective infectious pathogens. MMIM covers basic, translational as well as clinical research in infectious diseases and infectious disease immunology. Basic research using cell cultures, organoid, and animal models are welcome, provided that the models have a clinical correlate and address a relevant medical question. The journal also considers manuscripts on the epidemiology of infectious diseases, including the emergence and epidemic spreading of pathogens and the development of resistance to anti-infective therapies, and on novel vaccines and other innovative measurements of prevention. The following categories of manuscripts will not be considered for publication in MMIM: submissions of preliminary work, of merely descriptive data sets without investigation of mechanisms or of limited global interest, manuscripts on existing or novel anti-infective compounds, which focus on pharmaceutical or pharmacological aspects of the drugs, manuscripts on existing or modified vaccines, unless they report on experimental or clinical efficacy studies or provide new immunological information on their mode of action, manuscripts on the diagnostics of infectious diseases, unless they offer a novel concept to solve a pending diagnostic problem, case reports or case series, unless they are embedded in a study that focuses on the anti-infectious immune response and/or on the virulence of a pathogen.
