Subterranean Biology

INT SOC SUBTERRANEAN BIOL•ISSN: 1768-1448 / 1314-2615•Bulgaria
1.2
Clarivate IF

Subterranean Biology is an international journal published by Pensoft on behalf of the International Society for Subterranean Biology [SIBIOS-ISSB] for the publication of original and significant contributions on all aspects of subterranean life. The Journal will consider original scientific papers dealing with any aspect of subterranean ecosystems and their components focusing on biology, ecology, evolution and conservation. Reviews and Commentaries: The journal welcomes review articles on aspects of subterranean biology. They should be submitted in the same way as research articles but use a simple layout with no more than three levels of headings. Commentaries on previous matter published in the journal may be also considered. Both reviews and commentaries will be reviewed. Book Reviews: Reviews of books, symposia volumes and conferences pertinent to the journal are welcome. The journal publishes electronic versions of the articles when these are ready to publish, without delays that might be caused by completion of an issue. These electronic versions are not "pre-prints" but final and immutable (Version of Record), hence available for the purposes of biological nomenclature. The date indicated on the electronic version is to be considered the actual publication date.

Zebrafish

Mary Ann Liebert Inc.•ISSN: 1545-8547•United States
1.2
Clarivate IF

Zebrafish is the only peer-reviewed journal dedicated to the central role of zebrafish and other aquarium species as models for the study of vertebrate development, evolution, toxicology, and human disease. Due to its prolific reproduction and the external development of the transparent embryo, the zebrafish is a prime model for genetic and developmental studies. While genetically more distant from humans, the vertebrate zebrafish nevertheless has comparable organs and tissues, such as heart, kidney, pancreas, bones, and cartilage. Zebrafish introduced the new section TechnoFish, which highlights these innovations for the general zebrafish community. TechnoFish features two types of articles: TechnoFish Previews: Important, generally useful technical advances or valuable transgenic lines TechnoFish Methods: Brief descriptions of new methods, reagents, or transgenic lines that will be of widespread use in the zebrafish community Zebrafish coverage includes: Comparative genomics and evolution Molecular/cellular mechanisms of cell growth Genetic analysis of embryogenesis and disease Toxicological and infectious disease models Models for neurological disorders and aging New methods, tools, and experimental approaches Zebrafish also includes research with other aquarium species such as medaka, Fugu, and Xiphophorus.

The Belgian Journal of Zoology is an open access journal publishing high-quality research papers in English that are original, of broad interest and hypothesis-driven. Manuscripts on all aspects of zoology are considered, including anatomy, behaviour, developmental biology, ecology, evolution, genetics, genomics and physiology. Manuscripts on veterinary topics are outside of the journal’s scope. The Belgian Journal of Zoology also welcomes reviews, especially from complex or poorly understood research fields in zoology. The Belgian Journal of Zoology does no longer publish purely taxonomic papers. Surveys and reports on novel or invasive animal species for Belgium are considered only if sufficient new biological or biogeographic information is included.

Helminthologia (HELMIN), published continuously since 1959, is the only journal in Europe that encompasses the individual and collaborative efforts of scientists working on a different topics of human, veterinary and plant helminthology. The journal responsibility is to enrich the theoretical and practical knowledge in very specific areas and thus contribute to the advancements in human and veterinary medicine and agronomy. Taking the advantage of comprehensive and multidisciplinary approaches journal still maintains its original spirit and is principal source of fresh scientific information regarding helminths, endoparasites and plant parasites. Addressing the most up-to date topics journal gained rightful and exceptional place next to the other high-quality scientific journals publishing in its field.

Journal of Herpetology

Society for the Study of Amphibians and Reptiles•ISSN: 0022-1511•United States
1.1
Clarivate IF

The Journal of Herpetology accepts manuscripts on all aspects on the biology of amphibians and reptiles including their behavior, conservation, ecology, morphology, physiology, and systematics, as well as herpetological education. We encourage authors to submit manuscripts that are data-driven and rigorous tests of hypotheses, or provide thorough descriptions of novel taxa (living or fossil). Topics may address theoretical issues in a thoughtful, quantitative way. Reviews and policy papers that provide new insight on the herpetological sciences are also welcome, but they must be more than simple literature reviews. These papers must have a central focus that propose a new argument for understanding a concept or a new approach for answering a question or solving a problem. Focus sections that combine papers on related topics are normally determined by the Editors. Publication in the Long-Term Perspectives section is by invitation only. Papers on captive breeding, new techniques or sampling methods, anecdotal or isolated natural history observations, geographic range extensions, and essays should be submitted to our sister journal, Herpetological Review.

Hystrix the Italian Journal of Mammalogy accepts papers on original research in basic and applied mammalogy on fossil and living mammals. The Journal is published both in paper and electronic "online first" format. Manuscripts can be published as full papers or short notes, as well as reviews on methods or theoretical issues related to mammals. Full papers have no limits in length as well as in figure and table number and are abstracted in English. Authors are encouraged to add supplemental material in form of colour figures, original datasets and/or computer program source code. Supplemental material and colour figures will appear only on the electronic edition. Short notes must be about 16000 characters long (including title, author names and affiliations, abstract and references), and do not include supplemental material. They are abstracted in English. Proceedings of symposia, meetings and/or workshops, and technical reports can be published as special supplements to regular issues, under the approval by the Editor in Chief and the Associate Editors. Both descriptive and experimental papers will be considered. Similarly, both single species (except for insect taxa) and ecosystem studies will be considered for publication. Single species descriptions for insect taxa are not accepted except under strong recommendations from Editors. Manuscripts that are checklists or based on new records will no longer be accepted unless they are of significant scientific value.
